The P.G. Department of Commerce (General) organized a seminar on “Intellectual Property Rights (IPR): Importance, Types, and Scope in Fostering Innovation” on 28th April 2025 at 2:00 p.m. The session aimed to raise awareness among students and faculty about the significance of IPR in encouraging innovation and protecting creative work. The resource person for the event was Mrs. Preethi Narayan, a renowned Patent Consultant with rich experience in patent filing, IP management, and strategic planning. The program began with a welcome address by [Insert Name], [Insert Designation], who introduced the topic and the speaker. Mrs. Preethi Narayan delivered an insightful presentation covering various aspects of Intellectual Property Rights, including patents, copyrights, trademarks, and industrial designs. She emphasized the role of IPR in research, business, and entrepreneurship, and provided practical guidance on the patent application process, IP portfolio management, and commercialization strategies. Department of Visual Communication organized a heartfelt Farewell Ceremony on 25.04.2025

The Department of Visual Communication organized a heartfelt Farewell Ceremony to bid adieu to the outgoing students of II M.Sc. Visual Communication (2023-25) and III B.Sc. Visual Communication (2022-25). The event was held on 25th April 2025 at the preview theatre, and was filled with emotion, celebration, and a strong sense of belonging. The program commenced with the lighting of a lamp that set the tone for the occasion, followed by a warm welcome address by the Head of the department, Dr. R Srinivasan. The HoD delivered an inspiring speech appreciating the achievements and creative contributions of the graduating students. Faculty members of the department shared their memories and extended their best wishes for the students' future endeavors in the fields of media, communication, and design.
As part of the celebration, juniors from both the undergraduate and postgraduate streams presented cultural performances including dance, music, and skits, showcasing their affection and admiration for their seniors. These performances added vibrancy and warmth to the occasion. The highlight of the event was the sharing session where outgoing students reflected on their journey, recalled memorable moments, and expressed their gratitude to the department, faculty, and peers. Department of Computer Science organized a heartfelt farewell function on 16.04.2025

The Department of Computer Science organized a heartfelt farewell function for the outgoing students of III B.Sc. CS and III BCA on 16th April 2025 at the college canteen. The event was filled with emotions, nostalgia, and celebration as students and staff gathered to bid adieu to the final-year students.

The farewell began with a video presentation created by the students, capturing their memorable journey from the first year to the final year. The clips showcased various occasions and events held over the years, reflecting their growth, unity, and cherished college life.

As a mark of appreciation, the department honored the office bearers of the association club by presenting mementos for their dedicated service and leadership. In addition, certificates were distributed to the students who participated in the school extension activity conducted at Dasar School, recognizing their contribution to social outreach and community service.

S.A. College of Arts & Science, conducted an impactful awareness program on Fire & Safety as part of National Fire Service Week 2025. The initiative, organized by the Department of Commerce (Accounting & Finance) in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS), aimed to promote fire safety awareness and wellness among students and staff.

The program commenced at 12:00 pm on the 15th of April, 2025, at the SACAS campus. Officers from the Chennai Suburban District Fire Department served as trainers, providing hands-on demonstrations and expert insights into fire safety protocols, emergency response techniques, and preventive measures to handle fire-related hazards.

Students actively participated in the training sessions, which covered a wide range of essential topics including the use of fire extinguishers, evacuation drills, and first-aid practices during fire emergencies. The event also emphasized the importance of mental preparedness and staying calm under pressure, aligning with the wellness aspect of the training.

The initiative was a resounding success, reflecting SACAS’s commitment to holistic education that goes beyond academics. The college management appreciated the efforts of the NSS volunteers and Accounting & Finance department for organizing such a vital program that not only enhances safety awareness but also prepares students to act responsibly in times of crisis.

Our SACAS Middle Distance Men Athlete, S. S. Saran of 2nd BCOM General, won Gold Medal (First place) with a cash award of ₹5000 in the 2nd Annual Marathon Run – 5 km (The Great Revolutionist Leader Dr. B.R. Ambedkar 134th Birth Anniversary Tribute), organized by the Indian Democratic Youth Association, Oragadam, Ambattur, Chennai, on 14.04.2025.

The Department of English at S.A. College of Arts & Science hosted the Valediction of the Literary Association – The Renaissance and a heartfelt Farewell for the Batch 2K22 on April 8, 2025, at 12:00 PM in the SACAS English Hall. The event beautifully celebrated the achievements of the outgoing students and marked the formal closure of the Literary Association’s activities for the academic year.

With the theme “Every farewell is a sunset that always awaits the sunrise,” the program reflected warmth, nostalgia, and hope. Ms. S. Vaishnavi, President of The Renaissance, led the proceedings with enthusiasm and elegance. The event was graced by Dr. Malathi Selvakkumar (Principal), Dr. V. Sayi Satyavathi (Director), Mr. M. Thanga Kumaran (Head of the Department), and Mr. P. Venkatesh Raja (Correspondent).
