B.Com Computer Applications students conducted a community awareness program at a old age home located at Porur that provides accommodation to mentally challenged elderly women. This extension program is a collaborative effort where students from all three academic years contributed significantly and demonstrated compassion and social responsibility towards this vulnerable group.
Donation of Essentials
Understanding the needs of the senior citizens, the students donated in the form of collecting essential items such as rice and other essentials. The response over these three years has been extraordinary, with students contributing wholeheartedly to ensure that women are equipped to meet their daily needs. These items are carefully packaged and distributed to the home administration to support the residents' well-being.
Entertainment and Communication
Students brought joy and brightness to the lives of elderly women by organizing cultural events. They brought a series of dances and song. Despite their mental problems, the elderly women have happy faces and applauded the music and efforts of the students. This discussion not only enlightened the people, but also made the students understand how to understand and care for the elderly.
Reflection
This effort and visit is not only about providing necessary things, but also about establishing relationships between students and elderly women. This activity encourages students to experience community service and personal growth. It helps them understand the importance of helping those in need, especially the elderly, who often face isolation and neglect. Department of Visual Communication at S.A. College of Arts and Science organized an insightful guest lecture featuring Mr. Ashwin Prasath, Senior Principal Photographer at The New Indian Express. The session began at 10 AM with the traditional lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the dispelling of darkness through knowledge and wisdom. Faculty members, more than 200 students including other college students, and other dignitaries were present to witness the event. Mr. Ashwin Prasath is a well-known figure in the field of photojournalism with years of experience covering significant events across Tamilnadu. Mr.Arulmozhi shared his real life experiences with the students and motivated them to start their own venture, he insisted that it is better to be self employed than working as an employee. He emphasised the need to develop soft skills after identifying their own area of interest, as developing these skills will not only enhance ability to run a business but also contribute to overall personal development. The session was interactive .

The second session on 10/09/2024 was led by Mr.U.Peter Sahaya Raj CEO & MD. He enlightened the students with emerging trends in industries which is rapidly evolving, and the role of future managers who are expected to adapt and lead with a multifaceted skill set, critical thinking, creativity, and data-driven decision-making which are foundational, as businesses increasingly rely on digital technologies and AI. He also insisted that emotional intelligence (EQ) and social intelligence (SQ) are just as crucial as IQ. Our Men's Handball team, it is the First time Our College Men Handball team won the 2nd place Runner -up Trophy and Merit Certificate in the University of Madras B-zone Men Handball Tournament 2024-2025 at Nazareth College Avadi Chennai. In this tournament our SACAS Men Handball Team won the Fist round against Pachaiyapas college(15/02), Won the Second round match against KCS Kasinadar College (10/04) , won the 3rd round Semifinal match against St'Thomas College (12/04) , Final match our team last against Nazareth College 02/16.
