The victory marks a significant moment of honour for the institution, reflecting Shakthivel’s unwavering dedication, discipline, and exceptional sporting talent. His consistent hard work and commitment have brought the college into the spotlight once again, inspiring fellow students and sports enthusiasts alike.

SASOM Hosts FDP on Creative Writing for Research Proposals at SACAS 

The Centre for Research & Development, in coordination with the School of Management of S. A. College of Arts & Science organized a Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Creative Writing for Research Proposals: From Proposal to Grant Success” on 27th November 2025 at the SACAS Auditorium. The session was held from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Dr. Mohan K., from the Centre for Climate Change and Environment, Vellore Institute of Technology, served as the resource person. He provided valuable insights into the structure and purpose of research proposals, highlighting key components of a strong proposal, expected outcomes, and the importance of demonstrating significance and innovation.

As part of the hands-on activity, faculty members were divided into groups and assigned to prepare and present their own research proposals. All teams participated enthusiastically, showcasing creative ideas and practical approaches to proposal writing.

The FDP proved highly beneficial, enhancing faculty competence in crafting competitive and impactful research proposals.

TTF Vasan Engages With Students at S.A. College of Arts and Science Chennai, November 26, 2025:

The Department of Visual Communication at S.A. College of Arts and Science, Thiruverkadu, in collaboration with Behind Talkies, hosted a special Meet and Greet with popular digital creator TTF Vasan on Wednesday.

The event, held at 3:00 p.m., witnessed an enthusiastic turnout of students and faculty members. TTF Vasan interacted with the audience, speaking about his experiences in digital media, the challenges of content creation, and the importance of responsible online engagement. He also encouraged students to explore opportunities in the rapidly expanding digital entertainment sector.

Faculty members noted that the initiative was part of the department’s ongoing efforts to provide students with direct exposure to industry professionals. The session concluded with a lively Q&A segment and photo interactions, leaving students motivated and inspired.

SACAS Hosts Advanced Cyber Security Training

The Department of Computer Applications of S.A. College of Arts & Science organized a four-day Advanced IT Skills Training on Cyber Security from 24 to 27 November 2025 at the Computer Graphics Lab. The training, held from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., was conducted in collaboration with the ICT Academy under The Skill Elevation Club and IBM Skills Build.

Mr. Mugesh Muralidhar, Cyber Security Analyst at Securiglobe Pvt. Ltd., Chennai, served as the resource person. Guided by Mr. P. Chandrasekar, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Applications, the sessions introduced participants to key cybersecurity concepts, major cyber threats, port security, Nmap scanning, essential security tools, and the evolution of cybersecurity.

A total of 65 final-year students from B.Sc. Computer Science, BCA, and B.Sc. Computer Science with AI gained hands-on exposure through real-time demonstrations and practical exercises.

The program strengthened students’ technical abilities, enhanced their confidence, and equipped them with foundational skills for future careers in ethical hacking, security analysis, and digital forensics.

SASOM Launches NSE Smart Lab to Strengthen Industry-Aligned Learning.

The School of Management, at S.A. College of Arts & Science in collaboration with NSE Academy Ltd, a subsidiary of the National Stock Exchange of India Ltd, Mumbai, proudly inaugurated the NSE Smart Lab (Simulated Trading) on 19th November 2025 at SASOM. The lab was officially launched by Mr. Ranganathan S., Associate Vice President, NSE Academy Ltd, and Mr. Vinodh James, Senior Manager, NSE Academy Ltd, along with Dr. V. Sayi Satyavathi, Director, Dr. Malathi Selvakkumar,Principal and Dr. Viji R., Director–SOM.

As part of this significant event, an MOU was signed to empower students with industry-relevant skills through capacity-building programs and virtual trading simulators. This initiative aims to bridge academic learning with real-time financial market experience, helping students gain practical exposure and confidence.

The new Smart Lab marks a major step toward preparing students for the dynamic world of finance and management.

SACAS Viscom Department Hosts Five-Day Film Appreciation Workshop with FTII, Pune.

The Department of Visual Communication, S.A College of Arts & Science organized a five-day workshop titled “An Art Beyond the Screen: An Introduction to Film Appreciation” from 17 to 21 November 2025, in collaboration with Film and Television Institute of India(FTII), Pune. The event began with a warm welcome address by Dr. Srinivasan, Head of the Department, followed by an overview of the programme by Viscom Director Prof. R. D. Balaji.

The workshop featured expert sessions by Dr. Milind Dhamle, Associate Professor, ETV Production; cinematographer Thiru P. Narayana; and renowned sound engineer Anthony Ruban, known for his work in Madras, Kaala, and Kabali. A total of 43 students, including 8 external participants from across India, took part.

The sessions focused on film history, key elements of cinema, cinematography, sound engineering, and essential industry jargon. The workshop concluded with an inspiring address by Correspondent Thiru P. Venkatesh Raja, followed by certificate distribution. The department expressed gratitude to the Principal, Dr. Malathi Selvakkumar and Director, Dr. V. Sayi Satyavathi for their constant support.

University of Madras Inter Zone Men Best Physique , Men & Women Weight Lifting,  Tournament 2025-26 at SACAS campus

The Department of Physical Education, S.A. College of Arts & Science, hosted 2nd time in the University of Madras Inter Zone Men Best Physique and Men and Women Weight Lifting,  Power Lifting Selection Trials Tournament 2025-2026 Date on 16 November, 2025, with more then 46 college and 134 Men & women students were participating around Chennai for Men Best Physique and Men and Women Weight Lifting,  Power Lifting . The tournament was inaugurated by Mr.K.Rajasekaran Former Coach for Best Physique, weightlifting & Power Lifting Food Corporation India and University of Madras,Department of Physical Education welcome to all physical directors, Officials, coaches, Men and women players from various colleges of the University of Madras.

Our SACAS ‘s Men & Women students were participated in this tournament. our S.A.College of Arts & Science University women's weightlifter, R.V. Oviya of 2nd B.Sc. NSD&M, won the gold medal 🥇 in the Women Weightlifting Competition.


24th MMA Students Convention attended by the students of SASOM on 27.10.2025

Students and Faculty of School of Management attended the 24th MMA All India Management students” convention at IIT Madras Research Park on 27th October 2025. The Theme of the convention was Future Ready-Leveraging AI, Agility & Human Skills to thrive in the Challenging World”. Participants were inspired by the insights shared by the experts from the industry on how technology and human potential can work together to shape the leaders of tomorrow. It was a great experience for the students of School of Management.

K12 Techno Services Conducts Successful Campus Drive at SA College of Arts & Science. Chennai, November 10, 2025: K12 Techno Services successfully organized a campus recruitment drive at SA College of Arts & Science, providing an excellent platform for aspiring graduates to showcase their talents.

The recruitment process comprised three levels of interviews, carefully designed to assess the candidates’ skills, communication, and employability. It was a pooled campus drive, welcoming not only SACAS students but also participants from other reputed institutions.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of students, many of whom gained valuable exposure and career opportunities through this initiative.

The Career Development Cell of SACAS efficiently coordinated the entire event, ensuring smooth execution and a professional environment. The successful drive once again highlighted SACAS’s strong focus on student development, industry collaboration, and employability enhancement.

Blood Donation Camp at S.A. College Promotes the Spirit of Service.

The National Service Scheme (NSS), Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, and Rotaract Club of S.A. College of Arts & Science, Thiruverkadu, Chennai, jointly organized a Blood Donation Camp in collaboration with Chennai Round Table and Sanjeevan Blood Bank on 10th November 2025 at the college campus.

The camp was graced by Mr. P. Venkatesh Raja, Correspondent of the College, who encouraged and appreciated the student volunteers. Mr. Ajay Mohan, Chairman of Chennai Round Table, and Mrs. Nandhitha were also present to support the noble cause. Certificates were awarded to all donors in recognition of their contribution.

A total of 63 NSS, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, Rotaract, and RRC student volunteers enthusiastically donated blood. The Principal, Dr. Malathi Selvakkumar, and Director, Dr. Sayi Satyavathi, congratulated the donors. The camp was efficiently organized by Thiru. M. Vijayakumar (NSS Officer & HoD of Tamil), Dr. R. Srinivasan (UBA Coordinator & HoD of Visual Communication), and Ms. R. Swetha (RRC Coordinator).
