The PG Department of Computer Science, through the Nexus Technovate Club, organized an awareness session titled “The Gift of Life: Understanding the Importance of Human Organs” on 13 August 2026 at the SACAS Auditorium. The programme aimed to create awareness about human organs, organ donation, and the life-saving importance of organ transplantation.

Dr. K. Preethi, MDS, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, Proprietor and Clinical Head, Medha Dental Care, served as the resource person. She delivered an informative session on the importance of organ donation and the urgent need to create greater public awareness about transplantation.

Dr. Preethi explained how organ donation can give a second chance at life to people suffering from organ failure. She encouraged students to make informed and compassionate decisions and to spread awareness among their families and communities.

The session also highlighted the values of empathy, humanity, and social responsibility. With active student participation, the programme successfully created awareness about organ donation and inspired students to contribute to a more caring and responsible society.

The PG Department of Computer Science, through The Nexus Technovate Club, organised a Guest Lecture titled “Hidden Power of Data Analytics: Driving Innovation in the Digital Age” on 17 August 2026 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Data Science Laboratory (DS Lab).

The session was organised to provide students with a practical understanding of the importance of Data Analytics in the digital era and its role in transforming raw data into meaningful insights for innovation and informed decision-making.

The resource person explained the concepts of data analytics through real-world examples and a live demonstration. The live demonstration enabled students to observe how data can be processed, analysed, and interpreted to generate meaningful insights. By connecting theoretical concepts with practical implementation, the session helped students understand how data analytics is applied to solve real-world problems and support effective decision-making.

The resource person also discussed the applications of data analytics across various domains and highlighted its growing role in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Business Analytics, healthcare, marketing, and technology. The practical demonstration and relatable examples made the session interactive and helped students connect classroom learning with industry applications.

The session further provided insights into emerging career opportunities in the field of Data Science and Data Analytics, encouraging students to strengthen their analytical thinking, technical skills, and problem-solving abilities.

The guest lecture was highly informative and engaging, with students actively participating and gaining practical exposure through the live demonstration. SACAS Hackathon Awareness Session Inspires Students to Innovate.

The PG Department of Computer Science, in association with IQAC and the Nexus Technovate Club, S.A. College of Arts & Science, organized an awareness session on "From Ideas to Innovation: Hackathon Kickoff" on 31 July 2026 in the college auditorium. The programme aimed to encourage students to explore innovation, entrepreneurship, and national-level hackathon opportunities.

The session featured Mr. Marutha Durai P., Coordinator (Innovation), Sri Sai Ram Engineering College, and Mr. Selvakumar A., Founder, Yuga Enterprises, as resource persons. They highlighted the importance of innovation, teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving in achieving success through hackathons and entrepreneurship.

A major highlight of the programme was the motivational address by Mr. Selva Vignesh, a two-time Smart India Hackathon Grand Finale Winner (2024 & 2025). He shared his inspiring journey, explained the stages of hackathons, and offered practical tips on project development, teamwork, and presentation skills.

The interactive session motivated students to participate confidently in hackathons and transform innovative ideas into impactful solutions, reinforcing the institution's commitment to nurturing future innovators and entrepreneurs.

CODEX Club Launched to Foster Coding and Innovation at SACAS.

The PG Department of Computer Science, in association with IQAC, S.A. College of Arts & Science, inaugurated CODEX – Coding & Innovation Club on 27 July 2026 at the Data Science Laboratory. The club was launched to provide students with a dynamic platform to enhance their coding skills, encourage innovation, and promote collaborative learning.

The programme began with the Tamil Thai Vazhthu, followed by a welcome address by Dr. M. Thirunavukkarasu, Head of the Department. Mrs. Nandhini N., Club Coordinator, introduced the vision and objectives of CODEX and outlined the club's activities, including coding contests, hackathons, technical workshops, expert talks, project exhibitions, and skill development programmes.

The official CODEX introduction video and club logo were launched by Dr. S. Anbalagan, Principal, who also delivered the inaugural address. He encouraged students to strengthen their technical skills, embrace innovation, develop leadership qualities, and actively participate in the club's initiatives.

The programme also featured the introduction of the student office bearers, presentation of club badges, and the administration of the club oath. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, marking a promising beginning for CODEX and inspiring students to pursue excellence in coding, innovation, and lifelong learning.

S.A. College Conducts Hands-on Workshop on Building AI Agents.

The PG Department of Computer Science, S.A. College of Arts & Science, organized a hands-on workshop on "Building AI Agents: From Ideas to Deployment" on 24 July 2026 at the SACAS Data Science Lab. The workshop aimed to introduce students to the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence (AI) agents and provide practical experience in developing intelligent AI-powered solutions.

The session was conducted by Mr. Karthik A., Founder & CEO, Sysgate Infosystems. The programme began with the Tamil Thai Vazhthu, followed by a welcome address by Dr. M. Thirunavukkarasu, Head of the Department.

The resource person explained AI agent architecture, prompt engineering, workflow automation, and deployment strategies through live demonstrations and hands-on activities. Students gained practical knowledge of designing and deploying AI agents while exploring their applications in education, healthcare, business, and software development.

The interactive workshop enhanced students' technical skills, creativity, and understanding of emerging AI technologies. The programme concluded with a feedback session, inspiring participants to explore Artificial Intelligence further and develop innovative solutions for real-world challenges.
