UmagineTN’2026: SACAS Students Explore Future Technologies at Chennai Trade Centre.
The Department of Computer Applications, S.A. College of Arts & Science, under the initiative of The Skill Elevation Club, organized an industrial visit titled “UmagineTN’2026” on 08.01.2026 at the Chennai Trade Centre, from 9.00 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. The visit aimed to expose students to emerging technologies, industry trends, and real-world applications within the IT and digital ecosystem.
The event was inaugurated by the Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru. M.K. Stalin, whose address emphasized Tamil Nadu’s vision for digital transformation, innovation-led growth, and youth empowerment through technology. The programme featured expert talks, live demonstrations, and technology showcases in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, smart governance, startup innovation, digital infrastructure, and future-ready skills.
A total of 65 first-year BCA students, along with faculty members, actively participated. The visit enhanced students’ understanding of industry expectations, practical technology applications, and the role of innovation in societal development, motivating them toward skill-oriented and future-focused learning.

The Department of Home Science – Nutrition, Food Service Management & Dietetics, S.A. College of Arts & Science, successfully organized a Guest lecture titled “Love Your Heart, Feed It Right” under the theme “Cardio Vascular Care” on 07 January 2026.
The session was delivered by Ms. N. Selvamani, Senior Chief Dietitian, Kauvery Hospital, Vadapalani Branch, who highlighted the increasing burden of cardiovascular diseases and the vital role of nutrition and lifestyle changes in prevention and management. She discussed heart-healthy dietary practices, balanced fats, fiber-rich foods, and the need to reduce salt and sugar intake. The importance of physical activity and stress management for maintaining heart health was also emphasized.
Students actively participated in the interactive discussion and gained valuable practical insights into clinical nutrition and preventive cardiology. The programme aligned with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 4 (Quality Education), promoting awareness, learning, and professional responsibility among students.

MATH MASTERMIND–2026 Sparks Young Minds at S.A. College of Arts & Science
The Department of Mathematics, in association with the Mathelets Club of S.A. College of Arts & Science, successfully organized an Inter-School Event titled “MATH MASTERMIND–2026” on 07th January 2026, marking a special academic celebration. The programme began with a warm welcome address by Dr. G. Ambika, Head of the Department of Mathematics, followed by the honouring of the Chief Guest.
The esteemed speaker of the day, Mrs. T. V. Manamalli, Principal of Jaya Jaya Sankara International CBSE School, Chennai, addressed the students and highlighted how mathematics develops cognitive skills, creativity, analytical ability, and logical thinking, supporting both academic excellence and effective decision-making.
A total of 323 students from 15 schools participated enthusiastically. Four events—Math Quiz, Math Connection, Math Models, and Math Fun Games—were conducted. Winners and runners were awarded cash prizes. The event was held successfully with the strong support of the Correspondent Mr. P. Venkatesh Raja, Director Dr. V. Sayi Satyavathi, and Principal Dr. Malathi Selvakkumar, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to promoting the importance of Mathematics.

“Make Yourself Irreplaceable – Powered by AI Skills” Inspires Future Tech Leaders at SACAS.
The Department of Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence, at S.A College of Arts & Science, successfully organized a Guest lecture titled “Make Yourself Irreplaceable – Powered by AI Skills” on 07/01/2026. The session was delivered by Mr. Arun Charles, QA Automation, Venzo Technologies, who shared valuable insights into the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence.
During the lecture, Mr. Arun Charles explained AI as the ability of machines to learn, think, and make decisions. He emphasized the importance of prompt design, quality data, content creation, and feedback in developing effective AI-driven systems. The session also covered key Machine Learning concepts, helping students understand how AI models function behind the scenes.
Live practical demonstrations on Generative AI were conducted, enabling students to grasp real-time applications of AI tools. The programme concluded with a live demonstration of a simple AI-based Spoken English software model, making the session interactive and practical. Overall, the lecture enhanced students’ awareness of AI skills and the need for a strong technological foundation in the evolving digital world.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students representing various academic streams, highlighting their strong interest in pursuing careers in the banking and financial services sector.
The recruitment drive served as an effective platform for students to interact directly with industry professionals, gain insights into real-time recruitment procedures, and understand the expectations of the banking industry. Through different stages of the selection process, students were able to showcase their skills, aptitude, and professional readiness.
The Career Development Cell (CDC) of the institution played a pivotal role in planning, coordinating, and executing the event in a systematic manner. The consistent efforts of the CDC are highly appreciated for its commitment to enhancing students’ employability, career awareness, and professional growth through meaningful industry collaborations.

The School of Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science in association with Business Standard, inaugurated “Popcorn – The Management Theatre” on January 6, 2026, at the SACAS Theatre at 10:30 a.m. The event aimed to teach management concepts in a creative and engaging manner.
Mr. P.C. Balasubramaniam, Author, Entrepreneur, Co-founder & Director of Matrix Business Services India Pvt. Ltd., served as the Guest of Honour and resource person. Dr. Viji R., Director, School of Management, welcomed the gathering and explained the significance of the title “Popcorn.” Mr. S. Jayaraam, DGM – Market Development (South & East), Business Standard, delivered the special address.
Mr. Balasubramaniam conducted an energetic session using video clips from Superstar Rajinikanth’s movies to explain key management ideas such as leadership, communication, patience, courage, optimism, reputation, and dreaming big. Iconic dialogues like “En Vazhi Thani Vazhi” were used to highlight uniqueness and leadership.
The session, inspired by his book Rajini’s Panchatantra, combined fun with learning. The interactive discussion and Q&A made the programme enjoyable and highly informative for MBA students.

A Mentorship Session titled “Inside the Founder’s Realm: A Journey into the Startup World” was organized on 5th January 2026 at the SACAS Auditorium, S.A. College of Arts & Science, Thiruverakadu. The session was conducted by the Corporate Governance Professionals’ Association under the Department of Corporate Secretaryship. Mr. Ram Prasath Srinivasan, Chief People & Strategy Officer at Uzhavarbumi Agro Products Pvt. Ltd. and Founder & Advisor at Potential Partners, served as the resource person. A total of 186 students participated actively.
Mr. Ram Prasath delivered an interactive and informative talk, explaining startup realities, financial discipline, and the importance of governance. He highlighted the vital role of Company Secretaries from incorporation to dissolution and explained concepts such as OEM, MCA, DIN, KMP, AGM, and MOM in simple terms. He also emphasized the value of internships for gaining real-world exposure. The session provided practical insights and motivated students to prepare for industry-ready careers.

SACAS's Computer Science Students Visit IIT Madras for Institute Open House 2026
The Department of Computer Science, S.A. College of Arts & Science, in association with The Nexus Technovate Club, organized an academic campus visit to Indian Institute of Technology Madras on 03 January 2026 to attend the Institute Open House 2026. The programme was held from 9.00 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. with the objective of providing academic exposure and career-oriented insights.
A total of 56 final-year B.Sc. Computer Science students, accompanied by faculty members, participated in the visit. The Open House offered valuable information on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, research opportunities, innovation hubs, interdisciplinary learning, and industry collaborations. Emerging areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Robotics, Internet of Things, and Sustainable Technologies were highlighted.
Students interacted with faculty, researchers, and student volunteers, gaining clarity on higher education pathways, research culture, and startup incubation. The visit proved highly motivating, broadening students’ perspectives and strengthening their aspirations towards higher studies, research, and innovation-driven careers.

The Department of Computer Applications, in association with the Skill Elevation Club of S.A. College of Arts & Science, organized an academic campus visit to IIT Madras during the Institute Open House 2026 on 03 January 2026. The programme was held from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the IIT Madras campus.
A total of 55 final-year BCA students, accompanied by faculty members, participated in the visit. The main objective was to provide students with practical exposure and academic enrichment by introducing them to one of India’s premier institutions. During the Open House, students explored academic departments, research laboratories, innovation centres, and startup incubation facilities.
The sessions focused on emerging technologies, interdisciplinary research, industry collaboration, and higher education opportunities. Students gained valuable insights into the application of theoretical knowledge in real-world research and innovation. The visit inspired students to develop a research-oriented mindset and motivated them to pursue higher studies and careers in advanced technology fields.
