The Department of Visual Communication, S.A. College of Arts and Science, organized an educational visit to DakshinaChitra Heritage Museum on 1 August 2026 as part of the academic curriculum. A total of 47 students participated in the visit under the guidance of the faculty members.

The visit provided students with an opportunity to experience the rich cultural heritage, traditional architecture, folk arts, crafts, and lifestyles of South India. Students explored the heritage houses, museum exhibits, artisan workshops, and cultural displays, gaining practical exposure beyond the classroom.

As part of their learning activities, students captured photographs and videos to enhance their understanding of visual storytelling, composition, documentary photography, and cultural documentation. The visit also encouraged observation skills, creativity, and appreciation for traditional art forms.

Overall, the educational visit was highly informative and engaging. It successfully enriched the students' academic knowledge while providing valuable practical learning experiences related to visual communication and media studies.

The programme aimed to provide students with valuable career opportunities and strengthen industry-academia collaboration.

The recruitment drive began with a Pre-Placement Talk, where company representatives introduced the organization, explained job roles, career growth opportunities, and outlined the recruitment process. The informative session helped students understand the company's work culture and hiring expectations.

An Aptitude Test was conducted as the first stage of the selection process, with enthusiastic participation from students across various disciplines. The participants showcased their analytical abilities, problem-solving skills, and readiness to begin their professional careers.

The S.A. School of Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science, organized a three-day workshop on "Communication for Business Leaders" from 28 to 30 July 2026. The programme was designed to strengthen students' communication skills and prepare them for leadership roles in the corporate world.

The workshop was led by Mr. Narendranath Uppala, Chief Mentor, Nareen Edutech Consulting, Malaysia. Through engaging and interactive sessions, he explained the fundamentals of English grammar, including nouns, verbs, adjectives, and verb tenses. Using real-life examples, practical activities, and personal experiences, he demonstrated how effective communication plays a vital role in academic success, professional growth, and leadership.

Students actively participated in discussions and exercises, making the sessions lively and meaningful. The workshop enhanced their confidence in using English for both personal and professional communication. The programme proved to be informative, practical, and inspiring, equipping management students with essential communication skills needed to excel in today's competitive business environment.

Celebrating the Cinematic Legacy of Two Tamil Cinema Legends

The SA Film Academy (SAFA) successfully organised a five-day Value Added Course for the students of the Department of Visual Communication titled "A Homage and Retrospective of Two Legendary Filmmakers in Tamil Cinema" from July 27 to 31 at the SACAS Theatre. Curated and coordinated by acclaimed writer and director Thiru. Ajayan Bala, the programme celebrated the cinematic legacy of Padma Shri Bharathiraja and Thiru. K. Bhagyaraj.

The inaugural session commenced with a welcome address by Dr. S. H. Sheik Mohamed, Head of the Department of Visual Communication. Prof. R. D. Balaji, Director, SAFA, presented an overview of the five-day retrospective, highlighting its objectives and significance in enriching students' understanding of Tamil cinema. The organisers expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Thiru. P. Venkatesh Raja, Correspondent, for his visionary leadership and unwavering support. They also acknowledged the constant encouragement extended by Dr. S. Anbalagan, Principal, Dr. V. Sayi Satyavathi,Director and Dr. K. S. Prabakar, Director – Administration & CDC, whose guidance and support played a vital role in the successful conduct of the programme.

During the first four days, eight classic films were screened, with two films showcased each day—one directed by Padma Shri Bharathiraja and the other by Thiru. K. Bhagyaraj. Each screening was followed by engaging discussions led by Thiru. Ajayan Bala, who provided insightful analyses of the films' storytelling, screenplay, direction, visual language, characterisation, and cultural significance, enabling students to appreciate the artistic and technical brilliance of Tamil cinema.

The valedictory session featured eminent filmmaker Mr. Veerasingam and renowned writer, filmmaker, and producer Mr. Rasi Azhagappan as chief guests. They shared valuable experiences from their cinematic journeys and encouraged students to pursue filmmaking with creativity, passion, and perseverance. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. G. C. Premnivas, Assistant Professor, Department of Visual Communication. The retrospective concluded successfully, leaving students with a richer understanding of cinema and a lasting appreciation for the timeless contributions of two legendary filmmakers to Tamil cinema.

College of Arts & Science, organized an Inter-Department Digital Poster Presentation Competition on the occasion of Pi Approximation Day on 31 July 2026. Around 30 students enthusiastically participated in the event, showcasing their creativity and mathematical knowledge.

Dr. K. Jamberi, Head of the Department of BCA, served as the judge for the competition. Participants confidently presented their digital posters, explained their innovative concepts, and demonstrated their Canva design skills. The presentations highlighted the significance of the mathematical constant Pi and explored the growing role of Mathematics in the field of Artificial Intelligence.

The competition provided students with an excellent platform to combine creativity, technology, and mathematical concepts while enhancing their presentation and communication skills. The event concluded successfully with the support of Mr. P. Venkatesh Raja, Correspondent; Dr. K.S. Prabakar, Director (Administration & CDC); and Dr. S.
