SA Rhapsody 2025: A Day of Talent, Fun, and Star-Studded Performances at SACAS.

The S.A. College of Arts & Science campus came alive with colors, music, and excitement as SA Rhapsody 2025 unfolded in all its glory on September 13, 2025. With participation from 23 colleges across Chennai, the event celebrated creativity, culture, and youthful energy.

The morning began with a variety of prelim events that kept the campus buzzing. Dance and singing competitions were held at the Auditorium, showcasing raw talent and passion. Simultaneously, the Mind Game challenged participants’ wit at the theatre, followed by an engaging Short Film screening at 11:45 a.m. Meanwhile, the Cooking contest at the NFSM&D Lab filled the air with the aroma of creativity.

As the day moved to the Grand Finale from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m., the campus transformed into a carnival of lights, music, and celebration. Food and accessories stalls, lively decorations, and an enthusiastic crowd created a festive vibe.

The finale was a treat for everyone, with a ramp walk, electrifying dance performances, and music that kept the audience cheering. The star-studded lineup included KPY fame Azhar and Kureshi, singer Nithyashree, DJ Deepika, dance master Sridhar, actress Yashika Anand, and singer Sam Vishal. Their presence added sparkle to the event, making it a night to remember.

SA Rhapsody 2025 not only celebrated talent but also created a platform for students to bond, perform, and shine, proving once again that SACAS is a hub of culture and creativity.

S.A. College of Arts and Science (SACAS) hosted the Good News Group of TV Channels today for a special recruitment initiative with the Department of Visual Communication. The drive aimed to provide students with insights into the media industry and explore career opportunities in television and broadcasting. Representatives from the company interacted with students, encouraging them to showcase their creativity and technical skills. The college expressed its commitment to fostering strong industry linkages, ensuring students gain practical exposure and career opportunities that prepare them for success in the media sector.

The School of Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science  in association with NISM and Geojit Foundation Securities organised Workshop on ”Indian Securities Market” on 17.09.2025 to 18.09.2025 from 9.00 am to 3.00 pm at SACAS Theatre. Dr.J.Murthy SEBI & NISM Empanelled Trainer was the resources person. Dr.Murthy, educated the students on capital market & highlighted the importance of investing in Stock market by explaining about various securities in which investments can be made. He explained about Mutual funds & insisted on the need to have the habit of saving money from very young age.  The trainer also created an awareness about various courses conducted by NISM and the career opportunities available.

Dr.Murthy explained the concepts through role-play & conducting quiz , the students actively participated in the interactive sessions.

Anti-Drug Rally by Thiruvallur Collectorate and S.A. College Rotaract, NSS & UBA Students Chennai, September 15: An Anti-Drug Rally was jointly organized by the Thiruvallur Collectorate and S.A. College of Arts & Science, Chennai – 600 077, with the active participation of Rotaract, NSS, and UBA units. Over 250 students enthusiastically marched from the college campus to Kaduvetty village, raising slogans and carrying placards to spread awareness on the dangers of drug abuse.

The rally was inaugurated by Mr. M. Prathap, I.A.S., District Collector of Thiruvallur, along with Mr. S. M. Nasar, Hon’ble Minister of Minorities Welfare, and Welfare of Non-Resident Tamils, and Mr. P. Venkatesh Raja, Correspondent of SACAS, by showing the flag. Dr. V. Sayi Satyavathi, Director of SACAS, and Dr. Malathi Selvakkumar, Principal of SACAS, were also present at the inauguration.

The event received appreciation from the public and underlined the joint responsibility of government, institutions, and youth in building a drug-free society.

The Thiruvallur District Collectorate and leading banks jointly organized the District-level Education Loan Camp at S.A. College of Arts & Science on 15.09.2025

The programme was held under the leadership of Mr. M. Prathap, I.A.S., District Collector, Thiruvallur, who presided over the event. The chief guest was Mr. S. M. Nasar, Hon’ble Minister of Minorities Welfare, and Welfare of Non-Resident Tamils, Government of Tamil Nadu.

The camp aimed at creating awareness among students and parents about the benefits of education loans and ensuring that financial assistance reaches deserving candidates without hurdles. It also emphasized the government’s commitment to promoting higher education by making it accessible to all sections of society.

Distinguished dignitaries present included Mr. S. Sasikant Senthil, MP, Tiruvallur Constituency; Mr. A. Krishnaswamy, MLA, Poonamallee Constituency, Mr. V.G. The programme concluded with a strong message on the importance of higher education and the government’s efforts to empower students through financial support. The Education Loan Camp witnessed active participation from students, parents, and the public, making it a significant step toward educational empowerment in Thiruvallur District.

SACAS Athlete Nithiya Harini Strikes Gold in 3 km Race Walk.

The Department of Physical Education, S.A. College of Arts & Science, proudly applauds the remarkable achievement of Nithiya Harini R., a first-year student of B.Com. She clinched the Gold Medal in the 3 km race walk at the prestigious 16th Thiruvallur District Junior Athletic Championship, organized by the Thiruvallur Athletic Association.

The championship was held at SDAT Thiruvallur on 14th and 15th September 2025, drawing participation from top young athletes across the district. Nithiya Harini’s determined performance and endurance brought laurels to SACAS and inspired her fellow students to strive for excellence.

The Department of Physical Education, S.A. College of Arts & Science, proudly celebrates the outstanding achievement of our talented rifle shooter, S. Shakthivel. He brought glory to the institution by winning a Silver Medal for the team event and a Bronze Medal for individual performance in the prestigious 50th Tamil Nadu State Shooting Championship (10 m Peep Sight Air Rifle, ISSF).

The championship was held on 13th and 14th September 2025 at the Gurunanak College Shooting Zone, with participation from top shooters across the state. Shakthivel’s brilliant performance in both Men and Junior Men individual and team categories has made the SACAS fraternity proud.

AI Avatar Workshop at SACAS Empowers Students with Global Insights.

The Department of Visual Communication, S.A. College of Arts & Science , successfully hosted a One-Day International Workshop on “AI Avatar” on 12th September 2025 in hybrid mode at the CG Lab, with live YouTube streaming for global reach.
Mr. Vigneshwar V G, AI Enthusiast and Digital Creator from New Zealand, delivered an engaging session on AI-driven avatar creation and its applications in gaming, VR, education, and healthcare. Over 100 students participated in interactive demonstrations and hands-on assignments. The workshop enhanced their technical skills, encouraged innovation, and provided valuable international exposure, making it a resounding success.

The Department of Physical Education,at S.A. CollegeofArts & Science, proudly hosted the University of Madras Women’s B-Zone Chess, Table Tennis, and Ball Badminton Tournament 2025–2026 on 10th September 2025. The  women’s Ball Badminton team displayed great talent and determination, securing the 4th place trophy.

In the opening round, SACAS outplayed Anna Adarsh College with a strong score of 35/14. Continuing their winning streak, the team defeated KCS Kasinadar College with impressive scores of 35/16 and 35/13. Entering the semifinals, the players put up a spirited fight but lost to Nazareth College, 27/35 and 23/35. In the playoff for 3rd place, SACAS battled hard against Women’s Christian College but finished 4th overall.

The championship title was claimed by Ethiraj College, followed by Nazareth College in 2nd place and Women’s Christian College in 3rd.
