ZENITH 2.0: An Evening of Talent, Unity, and Celebration at SASOM.

The School of Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science, organized ZENITH 2.0 on 18 February 2026 at 4:00 p.m. at the SACAS Lawn. The event was a vibrant evening filled with talent, entertainment, and togetherness. It provided a lively platform for students to showcase their skills, build team spirit, and create lasting memories.

The program featured cultural performances, interactive activities, and joyful celebrations, creating an energetic atmosphere. Dr. Viji R, Director – SOM, delivered the special address, highlighting the importance of extracurricular activities in developing leadership qualities and overall personality growth.

Students participated with great enthusiasm, and faculty members extended their active support, ensuring the event’s success. The well-coordinated performances and engaging sessions added to the excitement of the evening.

ZENITH 2.0 not only showcased diverse talents but also fostered unity, confidence, and camaraderie among students. The event offered a refreshing break from academic routines and remains a memorable milestone in the academic year 2025–2026.

The Department of B.Com (Corporate Secretaryship) of S.A. College of Arts & Science organized an industrial visit to Hatsun Agro Product Ltd. On 16th February 2026. A total of 77 first-year students participated in the visit, accompanied by the Coordinator, Ms. D. Mathivathini, and Dr. M. Suresh. The industrial unit is systematically organized across two floors. The ground floor is designated for finished goods, while the upper floor is allocated for semi-finished goods, where all the necessary raw materials required for final production—such as cream, nuts, and other ingredients—are carefully stored and maintained under hygienic conditions. During the visit, students were thoroughly briefed on the essential safety protocols and quality standards followed by the company. Strict sanitation measures are implemented within the premises, including mandatory hair coverings, gloves, and other protective gear for workers. These practices clearly reflect the company’s strong commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety. The students were also educated about the waste disposal mechanism adopted by the organization. Edible waste is responsibly utilized as feed for pigs, demonstrating an efficient and environmentally conscious waste management system. Additionally, the frozen trays used in the production unit are washed and sanitized once every week to ensure cleanliness and product safety. The visit offered students a comprehensive understanding of the manufacturing processes, quality control measures, and technological advancements implemented at Hatsun Agro Product Ltd. All the visitors were presented with gift hampers as a token of appreciation. Overall, the industrial visit proved to be an enriching and insightful experience, effectively bridging the gap between academic learning and practical industry exposure. A sincere note of gratitude is extended to the respected Correspondent Sir, Director Mam, Principal Mam, Head of the Department, and all the faculty members for their support and for organizing this valuable industrial visit.

Exploring India’s Intellectual Heritage – A Transformative IKS Educational Tour of SACAS to Pondicherry & Thanjavur.

The PG Department of Commerce (General), in association with the Central Library of S.A. College of Arts & Science, organized a two-day educational tour on the Indian Knowledge System (IKS) from 13th to 14th February 2025 for Commerce students. The visit covered prominent heritage and research centres including the French Institute of Pondicherry, Brihadeeswarar Temple, Thanjavur Palace Museum, and the Saraswathi Mahal Library, Thanjavur.

The programme was thoughtfully designed to provide academic exposure beyond the classroom and to deepen students’ understanding of India’s intellectual traditions. Students explored rare manuscripts, ancient documentation practices, temple architecture, and historical administrative and economic systems that shaped India’s scholarly heritage.

The tour successfully connected India’s cultural wisdom with modern commerce education, offering a meaningful and enriching learning experience for all participants.

ED MART–2026 Ignites Entrepreneurial Spirit Among Students at SACAS 

The Entrepreneur Development Mart (ED MART–2026) was successfully organized on 14th February 2026 with vibrant enthusiasm and active participation at S. A. College of Arts & Science. A total of 215 stalls were registered, presenting a diverse range of products and services including food items, mobile accessories, fashion products, stationery materials, gaming activities, chaat items, herbal products, and entertainment games. The event served as a dynamic platform for students to exhibit their entrepreneurial skills, creativity, and business acumen.

The highlight of the programme was the gracious presence of the Chief Guest, KPY Bala, along with his crew, who motivated students through their interaction and encouragement. The event commenced at 9:00 a.m. and witnessed energetic engagement throughout the day. Students from various colleges and external visitors explored and supported the stalls.

With dedicated coordination by staff members and disciplined participation by students, ED MART–2026 emerged as an inspiring and successful entrepreneurial initiative.

TEKSACASIA’26 – Inter-Collegiate Symposium at SACAS.

S.A. College of Arts & Science organized TEKSACASIA’26, an inter-collegiate Symposium, on 13 February 2026 from 8.00 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. The event was conducted by the Department of Computer Science in association with the Department of Computer Applications at the SACAS Auditorium, Computer Science Lab, and various halls.

Around 173 students from 18 colleges across Chennai and Thiruvallur districts participated. Students from BCA, B.Sc Computer Science, IT, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Commerce streams actively took part, making the event lively and diverse.

The chief guests, Mr. Mathiarasan Sankaramoorthy, Founder of YALABS, and Dr. Usha M, Director of MEASI Institute of Information Technology, motivated students to explore emerging technologies and think innovatively.

The symposium featured events such as Be My SIRI (Quiz), Papyrus (Paper Presentation), Error 404 (Debugging), and PanelPlay (Story Board). The program enhanced students’ technical skills, teamwork, and confidence for future challenges.


S.A. School of Management Celebrates Grand Success of “Melange’26” On 12.02.2026

S.A. School of Management Celebrates Grand Success of “Melange’26” On February 12, 2026, the School of Management at S.A. College of Arts & Science, in association with Business Standard, successfully organized “Melange’26” – Mela of Management, a vibrant intercollegiate management fest. The event drew an overwhelming response, with 433 students from 29 colleges participating enthusiastically.

The program was graced by Chief Guest N. Srinivasan, Director of Finance Operations at Freshworks, who inspired students with his insights on industry expectations and professional growth.

Melange’26 featured six engaging and competitive events designed to test students’ managerial and creative abilities. These included The Strategist, Pitch Starter, Step It Up, Bulls and Bears Challenge, and Thought Rattle, among others. Each event encouraged participants to demonstrate analytical thinking, innovation, teamwork, and entrepreneurial skills. An in house E-Newsletter SASOM Odyssey was released on the same day. 

The valedictory session marked a proud moment for all participants. Certificates were distributed to every student who took part in the fest, while winners and runners-up were honored with cash prizes and special recognition. The atmosphere was filled with celebration and a sense of achievement as students showcased their talents on a prestigious platform.

Melange’26 provided an excellent opportunity for budding managers to gain practical exposure, build confidence, and network with peers from various institutions. The grand success of the event reflects the college’s continued commitment to academic excellence, skill development, and holistic education.

Students Unite to Form CCI Logo in a Grand Display of Teamwork at SACAS.

The Department of  Accounting & Finance of S.A. College of Arts & Science organized the Human Formation Programme, “CCI Logo,” on 12 February 2026 at the SACAS Ground from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The event was held in collaboration with the SACAS Association of Accounting & Finance Professionals, SACAS’ians Fin.Tech Club, Consumer Confederation of India (CCI), and FEDCOT India.

The programme aimed to promote social responsibility and awareness through a large-scale human formation activity. Around 2,500 students participated enthusiastically, forming the CCI logo over an area of nearly 40,000 square feet. The event began with a short orientation explaining the process and its importance. Students worked in perfect coordination, showing unity, discipline, and teamwork.

Representatives from CCI and FEDCOT India motivated the participants, while faculty members, volunteers, and student coordinators ensured smooth execution. The programme successfully fostered leadership, cooperation, and community awareness, making it a memorable and meaningful initiative.

The Rotaract Club of S.A. College of Arts & Science organized Arise, a Club Orientation Program, on 11.02.2026 from 12.00 pm to 2.00 pm at the SACAS Preview Theatre. Around 100 Rotaract students actively participated in the program. The session aimed to introduce the objectives, values, and activities of Rotaract. The chief guest, Rtr. PP. Vignesh Kumar PS, delivered an inspiring speech about leadership, teamwork, and community service. He motivated the students to actively involve themselves in social initiatives. The program concluded successfully with an interactive session, encouraging students to grow and serve society through Rotaract.

COLORS OF HOPE: RANGOLI COMPETITION SPREADS CANCER AWARENESS AT SACAS.

The Red Ribbon Club of S.A. College of Arts & Science successfully organized a vibrant Rangoli Competition that combined creativity with an important message of cancer awareness. The event aimed to spread awareness among students through art and teamwork.

A total of 12 teams participated with great enthusiasm. Each team consisted of three members who worked together to create meaningful rangoli designs. The students used bright and attractive colors to express strong messages about cancer awareness, prevention, and support for patients. Their artistic ideas clearly showed their understanding and social responsibility.

The competition created a lively and energetic atmosphere across the campus. Students displayed passion, coordination, and creativity while preparing their designs. The event also encouraged unity and awareness among participants and viewers.

Overall, the Rangoli Competition was a great success. It not only highlighted the artistic talents of students but also helped in spreading an important social message about cancer awareness in a creative and impactful way.
