எஸ்.ஏ. கலை மற்றும் அறிவியல் கல்லூரியின் தமிழ்த்துறை மாணவர்களின் வாசிப்புத் திறனை மேம்படுத்தும் வண்ணம் ' புத்தகம் பேசுது' நிகழ்ச்சியை டிசம்பர் 23, 2025 அன்று கல்லூரிக் கலையரங்கில் நடத்தியது. சிறப்பு விருந்தினராகப் பட்டிமன்றப் பேச்சாளரும் கவிஞருமான இனியவன் கலந்து கொண்டு சிறப்பித்தார்.
தமிழ்துறை உதவிப் பேராசிரியர் முனைவர் பா.விக்னேஷ் குமார் வரவேற்புரை வழங்கினார். உதவிப் பேராசிரியர் திருமதி அ. விஜயலட்சுமி சிறப்பு விருந்தினரை அவைக்கு அறிமுகப்படுத்தினார். இன்றைய நவீன உலகில் ஒவ்வொருவரும் தம்மை மேம்படுத்திக் கொள்ளத் தம்மைத் தகுதிப்படுத்திக் கொள்வது இன்றியமையாதது. நாளும் நூல்கள் பல கற்றுப் பல்துறை அறிவைப் பெறுவது அவர்களின் அறிவை மட்டுமல்லாது அவர்களின் வளர்ச்சியையும் சிறக்கச் செய்யும். ஆதலால் மாணவர்களின் வாசிப்புத் திறனை மேம்படுத்தும் வண்ணம் 'எனக்குப் பிடித்த புத்தகம் ' பற்றி எட்டு மாணவர்கள் தம் கருத்துகளை அழகாகப் பதிவு செய்தனர்.
அதனனத் தொடர்ந்து சிறப்பு விருந்தினர் கவிஞர் இனியவன் நூல் வாசிப்பின் பயன்கள், இலக்கியத் தேடல், நூல்களைத் தேர்வு செய்தல், பல்துறை அறிவு போன்ற பல்வேறு கருத்துகளை எடுத்துரைத்து, மாணவர்களிடத்து நூல்களைப் படிக்க வலியுறுத்தினார். நிகழ்ச்சியை தமிழ்த்துறைத் தலைவர் திரு மா. விஜயகுமார் மற்றும் உதவிப் பேராசிரியர் ரா. பிரியா ஆகியோர் அழகாக ஒருங்கிணைத்திருந்தனர். ரா. பிரியா நன்றியுரை வழங்கினார். முனைவர் சித்ரா நிகழ்ச்சியை மிகச் சிறப்பாகத் தொகுத்து வழங்கினார். மாணவர்களின் அறிவை மெருகூட்ட இந்நிகழ்ச்சி பெரிதும் உதவியது.

School of Management Hosts Session on Analytics in Functional Areas of Business at SACAS 

The School of Management of S. A. College of Arts & Science successfully organised a two-day session on “Analytics in Functional Areas of Business” on 22nd and 23rd December 2025. The programme was conducted to equip students with practical knowledge of business analytics and its growing relevance in modern organizations.

Ms. Viola, Corporate Trainer and Consultant from Meta Cognitive Technologies Private Limited, served as the resource person. During the session, she explained how Business Analytics involves the systematic collection, processing, and analysis of data to generate meaningful insights that support efficient operations and informed strategic decision-making.

The students were provided with hands-on training in applying analytics across key functional areas such as marketing, finance, human resources, operations, and supply chain management. Ms. Viola emphasized the need for continuous practice in analytics and highlighted that, with rapid technological advancements and increasing data availability, business analytics has become a critical skill for future professionals.

The session witnessed active student participation and was highly informative, enhancing analytical thinking and industry readiness among the participants.

Workshop on Communication for Business Leaders Held at SASOM

The School of Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science, conducted a four-day workshop titled “Communication for Business Leaders” on 18, 19, 22, and 23 December 2025. The programme aimed to strengthen students’ communicational intelligence and prepare them for leadership roles in the corporate world.

Mr. Narendranath Uppala, Chief Mentor, Nareen Edutech Consulting, Malaysia, served as the Chief Guest and resource person. He delivered highly engaging sessions on the fundamentals of English grammar, clearly explaining concepts such as nouns, verbs, adjectives, and verb tenses. Through real-life examples, interactive activities, and personal experiences, he helped students relate grammar to effective everyday and professional communication.

The workshop was interactive, informative, and motivational. Mr. Uppala’s practical teaching approach and insights on the importance of English for education and career growth made the programme a valuable and inspiring learning experience for management students.

The Department of Mathematics, in association with the Mathelets Club of S.A. College of Arts & Science, organized a Mathematics Awareness Rally and a Guest Lecture to mark National Mathematics Day on 22nd December 2025. The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. G. Ambika, Head of the Department of Mathematics. The Chief Guest, Mr. Kashif Ahmed, Regional Manager – Campus Relations, SHL India Pvt. Ltd., was formally honoured on the occasion.

Mr. Kashif Ahmed, in his inspiring lecture, emphasized the vital role of Mathematics in enhancing logical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and aptitude skills essential for academic and professional success. He encouraged students to explore creativity through mathematical concepts. The Mathematics Awareness Rally further highlighted the importance of Mathematics in daily life.

The event was  supported by the Correspondent, Mr. P. Venkatesh Raja, Director Dr. V. Sayi Satyavathi, and Principal Dr. Malathi Selvakkumar, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to celebrating and promoting National Mathematics Day.

S.A. College of Arts & Science proudly celebrates the outstanding achievement of its women’s long-distance athlete Nithiya Harini R., a student of I year Commerce . On 22 December 2025, she won the Bronze Medal at the 57th Dr. Sir A. L. Mudaliar Golden Jubilee Commemoration and University of Madras Inter-Zone Athletic Meet 2025–2026. The prestigious event was held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Chennai.

Competing with athletes from various zones under the University of Madras, Nithiya Harini showed great stamina, determination, and sportsmanship. Her hard work and commitment to athletics have brought pride and honour to the institution.

The Department of Physical Education and Sports extends heartfelt congratulations to her for this remarkable success. Her achievement stands as a strong motivation for fellow students to excel in sports along with academics.

S.A. College of Arts & Science, affiliated to the University of Madras, proudly celebrates a remarkable sporting achievement by its student. On 22 December 2025, S. Shakthivel, a men’s rifle shooter from 2nd B.Sc. Computer Science – AI, won the bronze medal in the 68th National Shooting Competition Championship. He secured this honour in the Youth 10m Rifle Shooting event held at Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.

Competing against talented shooters from across the country, Shakthivel displayed excellent focus, discipline, and shooting skills. His achievement reflects his hard work and dedication, as well as the strong support system provided by the college.

The Department of Physical Education and Sports congratulates S. Shakthivel for bringing pride and recognition to the institution. His success serves as an inspiration to fellow students to pursue excellence in both academics and sports.

SACAS Hosts Insightful Guest Lecture on GST and Its Impact on Indian Businesses

The Department of Accounting and Finance, S.A. College of Arts & Science (SACAS), in association with the SACAS Association of Accounting & Finance Professionals and SACAS’ians Fin-tech Club, organised a guest lecture on “Chai to Cargo: How GST Rewrote the Rules for Every Indian Business” on December 19, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the College Auditorium.

The session was led by Ms. Haripriya Suman (B.Com, CA Intermediate), Accounting and Tax Analyst at Zolvit. The lecture aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and its practical implementation across industries.

Drawing from her professional experience, the resource person explained the “One Nation, One Tax” philosophy and highlighted how GST unified multiple indirect taxes into a single framework. She emphasized its role in reducing tax cascading, simplifying compliance, ensuring uniform taxation across states, and improving ease of doing business. The lecture proved highly informative and beneficial for students of commerce, accounting, and finance.

SASOM Students’ Research Summit 2025 Promotes Research Excellence

The School of Management, S. A. College of Arts & Science, successfully organised the Students’ Research Summit 2025 for MBA students with the objective of providing a structured academic platform to present, discuss, and exchange research ideas and findings. The summit was designed to promote academic excellence, strengthen research orientation, and enhance analytical and critical thinking skills among management students.

The Research Summit was inaugurated by eminent industry leaders Mr. Jayaraam S., Deputy General Manager – Market Development (South & East), Business Standard, Chennai; Mr. Babu Nayagam, Head – Digital Transformation, Muthoot Fincorp Ltd.; and Mr. Rajesh Swaminathan, Global Talent Partner, Diligent Global, USA. Their inaugural addresses highlighted the importance of research-driven decision-making, industry-academia collaboration, and innovation in management education.

The event was further enriched by the presence of distinguished industry experts including Mr. Srinivasan Varadharajan, Business & Investment Consultant and Director, SVS Investments; Mr. G. Uthramoorthy, Operations Manager, Finmark Trainers India Pvt. Ltd.; Mr. Anandan, Deputy Chief Manager and Channel Manager, Aditya Birla Life Asset Management Company; Ms. Sudha Varadhan, Vice President, Divyaswaroopa Financial Services Pvt. Ltd.; and Ms. Surbhi Kothari.

A total of 94 MBA students presented their research papers, demonstrating strong subject knowledge and analytical competence. The presentations were evaluated through a comprehensive five-level assessment involving industry experts, external faculty, internal faculty, peers, and parents, ensuring diverse and constructive feedback.

Participants described the summit as highly informative and motivating. Overall, the Students’ Research Summit 2025 emerged as a successful academic initiative that significantly contributed to students’ intellectual growth and holistic academic development.
