The Department of Visual Communication, S.A. College of Arts & Science, organized an educational visit to DakshinaChitra Heritage Museum on 1 August 2026 as part of its academic curriculum. A total of 47 students, accompanied by faculty members, participated in the visit.
The programme provided students with an opportunity to explore the rich cultural heritage of South India through traditional houses, museum exhibits, artisan workshops, folk art displays, and craft demonstrations. The visit offered valuable practical exposure to the region's architecture, customs, and artistic traditions.
As part of the learning experience, students captured photographs and videos to develop their skills in visual storytelling, documentary photography, composition, and cultural documentation. The activity also enhanced their observation, creativity, and understanding of heritage conservation through the lens of visual communication.
The educational visit proved to be both informative and inspiring, successfully bridging classroom learning with real-world experience and enriching students' knowledge of culture, media, and visual arts.

The Department of Home Science – Nutrition, Food Service Management & Dietetics, in association with IQAC, S.A. College of Arts & Science, organized a guest lecture on "Integrating Health and Fitness – Synergistic Role of Fitness and Nutrition in Promoting Lifelong Health" on 4 August 2026. The session was delivered by Dr. Srinivasan, Founder, Robust Physio Care & Strength Training Centre.
Dr. Srinivasan explained the close relationship between nutrition and physical fitness in maintaining lifelong health and preventing lifestyle-related diseases. Using real-life case studies and practical examples, he demonstrated how a balanced diet and regular exercise contribute to better health outcomes. He also highlighted career opportunities for nutrition graduates in the fields of fitness, wellness, and rehabilitation, emphasizing the importance of professional certifications for career growth.
The session included fun physical activities and simple exercises, encouraging active student participation. An interactive question-and-answer session concluded the programme, providing valuable career guidance and inspiring students to adopt a holistic approach to health, fitness, and lifelong learning.

The Entrepreneur Development Cell (ED Cell), in association with IQAC, S.A. College of Arts & Science, inaugurated the Entrepreneurial Awareness Programme 2026–2027 on 4 August 2026 at the College Seminar Hall. The programme aimed to inspire students to embrace innovation, entrepreneurship, and leadership while encouraging them to explore entrepreneurship as a rewarding career path.
The event featured Mrs. Saranya Rajendran, Founder of Thinai Organics, who shared her inspiring entrepreneurial journey and highlighted the importance of perseverance, innovation, sustainability, and turning ideas into successful ventures. Ms. Jayashree Ranganathan also addressed the students, emphasizing continuous learning, leadership, adaptability, and professional growth in today's competitive world.
Students from various departments actively participated in the interactive sessions, gaining valuable insights into startup culture, entrepreneurship, and career opportunities. The programme motivated aspiring entrepreneurs to think creatively and develop a solution-oriented mindset.

College of Arts & Science, Thiruverkadu, organized a Guest Lecture on "Emerging Trends in Auditing and Corporate Governance" on 05 August 2026 at the SACAS Auditorium. The programme was convened by Dr. P. Karthika, Head of the Department of Accounting and Finance.
The session was led by CA A. S. Deephika, Chartered Accountant, who served as the Resource Person. She delivered an insightful presentation on the evolving landscape of auditing, corporate governance, ethical responsibilities of auditors, digital transformation, and emerging career opportunities in the accounting profession. Through practical examples and real-world case studies, she highlighted the significance of transparency, accountability, and technology in modern auditing practices. The MMA Students Chapter, School of Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science in association with MMA, organized an expert lecture on "Banking Trends & Innovation" on 5 August 2026. The session was delivered by Mr. Venkatakrishnan, Vice President (Retd.), Axis Bank, and BFSI Trainer.
The resource person provided valuable insights into the transformation of the banking sector from traditional banking to technology-driven financial services. He discussed emerging trends such as digital banking, mobile banking, fintech collaborations, artificial intelligence, blockchain, cloud computing, cybersecurity, digital payment systems, open banking, and data analytics. He also highlighted the importance of financial inclusion, sustainable banking practices, and the impact of regulatory changes on the banking industry.
Real-world examples helped students understand the practical applications of these innovations and the challenges faced by financial institutions. The interactive question-and-answer session enabled students to clarify their doubts regarding career opportunities in banking and fintech.

The Department of Tamil, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), and Tamizhal Inaivom – World Tamil Movement of S.A. College of Arts & Science jointly organised a Thirukkural Seminar on 5 August 2026 to promote the life lessons and moral values found in the Thirukkural. The programme began with the Tamil Thai Vazhthu, followed by a welcome address by Ms. Swathi. Dr. V. Sai Sathyavathi, Director highlighted the greatness of the Thirukkural, while Dr. K.S. Prabakar, Director ( Admin & CDC) spoke about Thiruvalluvar’s ability to convey profound ideas in simple words. Mr. Sathya Narayanaraj Balaguru encouraged students to cherish the Tamil language. During the event, Dr. Subramanian’s book Then Sottum Agananuru was released. In his keynote address, he stressed the importance of lifelong learning and preserving Tamil while learning other languages. Dr. Meena Thiruppathi spoke on the significance of love and virtue in both personal and social life. The seminar successfully inspired students to follow the timeless wisdom of the Thirukkural.

SACAS Students Gain Industry Exposure at Proventus Life Sciences.
The Department of Home Science – Nutrition, Food Service Management and Dietetics, S.A. College of Arts & Science, organized an industrial visit to Proventus Life Sciences Pvt. Ltd., Maraimalai Nagar, on 3 August 2026. The visit was arranged to provide students with practical exposure to pharmaceutical manufacturing and enhance their understanding of the production of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) and pharmaceutical intermediates.
Mr. Manikannan, General Manager, explained the complete API manufacturing process, including raw material selection, chemical synthesis, purification, quality testing, and packaging. Students also learned about the importance of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), quality assurance, and quality control in ensuring safe and effective pharmaceutical products.
The visit to the research and development laboratory gave students valuable insights into drug development, analytical techniques, and process optimization. An interactive session with the HR team and technical experts provided information on career opportunities in production, quality control, research, and regulatory affairs. The industrial visit successfully bridged the gap between classroom learning and industry practices, making it a highly enriching educational experience.

SACAS Organizes DELNET Orientation Programme for Faculty and Students
The Central Library of S.A. College of Arts & Science, Thiruverkadu, successfully organized an online orientation programme on "DELNET: Resources and Services" to familiarize faculty members and students with the institution's DELNET membership and its extensive digital resources. The programme aimed to enhance awareness of the academic and research support services available through DELNET.
The resource person provided a comprehensive demonstration on accessing e-books, e-journals, theses, dissertations, union catalogues, document delivery services, and other scholarly resources. Participants were also introduced to the 24×7 remote access facility, enabling seamless access to academic materials from anywhere. The session highlighted the effective utilization of DELNET resources for teaching, learning, research, project work, and scholarly publications.
Around 200 faculty members and students actively participated in the programme. An interactive question-and-answer session helped clarify participants' queries and enhanced their understanding of DELNET services. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the resource person and all participants for contributing to the success of the event.
