 எஸ்.ஏ. கலை மற்றும் அறிவியல் கல்லூரியின் தமிழ்த்துறை,  மாநில அளவிலான வாகை கலை இலக்கியப் போட்டிகள் பரிசளிப்பு விழாவை மார்ச் 10, 2026 அன்று காலை 9 மணிக்குச் சிறப்பாக நடத்தியது. சிறப்பு விருந்தினராகத் தமிழ் வளர்ச்சித்துறை இயக்குநர் முனைவர் ஒளவை அருள் கலந்து கொண்டு சிறப்பித்தார். கல்லூரி இயக்குநர் முனைவர் சாய் சத்யவதி முன்னிலையுரை நிகழ்த்தினார். தமிழ்த்துறைத் தலைவர் திரு. மா. விஜயகுமார் சிறப்பு விருந்தினர் முனைவர் ஒளவை அருள் அவர்களை அவைக்கு அறிமுகம் செய்து வைத்தார். 

மாநில அளவிலான வாகை கலை இலக்கியப் போட்டிகளில் வென்ற மாணவர்களுக்குச் சிறப்பு விருந்தினர் முனைவர் ஒளவை அருள் அவர்கள் அறுபதாயிரத்திற்கும் மேற்பட்ட பொற்கிழிப் பரிசையும், சான்றிதழ்களையும் வழங்கினார். முனைவர் ஒளவை அருள் அவர்கள் தமிழின் சிறப்புகளை எடுத்தியம்பி, திருக்குறள் முற்றோதலை மாணவர்களிடத்து வலியுறுத்தினார்.

பரிசு பெற்ற மாணவர்கள் உரையும், பாடல்களும் பாடி அவையோரை மகிழ்வித்தனர். கவிஞர் ஆவிச்சி கிருஷ்ணன் அவர்கள், மேடைப் பேச்சு பேசுவதற்கான சில நுணுக்கங்களைப் பற்றி மாணவர்களுக்கு எடுத்துரைததார். கல்லூரித் தாளாளர் திரு. ப. வெங்கடேஷ் ராஜா,  இயக்குநர் முனைவர் சாய் சத்யவதி,  முதல்வர் முனைவர் மாலதி செல்வக்குமார் ஆகியோரின் வழிகாட்டுதல்படி,   முத்தமிழின் மாண்பையும்,  மாணவர்களின் பங்களிப்பையும் இந்நிகழ்ச்சி சிறப்பாக விளக்கியது.

National-Level Case Study Event on Corporate Compliance Held at SACAS

The Corporate Governance Professionals’ Association of the Department of Corporate Secretaryship, S.A. College of Arts & Science, Thiruverakadu, organised a National Level Inter-Collegiate Case Study Event (2025–26) on 9 March 2026 at the SACAS Auditorium. The event was conducted in collaboration with the Kerala Economic Association under the theme “Law-Oriented Corporate Compliance with Special Focus on Company Law and Allied Statutory Frameworks.”

Dr. K. Satyanarayana delivered the inaugural address, highlighting the importance of corporate governance, statutory compliance, and ethical practices in the corporate sector. He discussed the four pillars of corporate governance and shared insights from notable case studies.

More than 200 participants from over 50 institutions across India took part in the competition through online and offline modes. The event included a preliminary round with multiple-choice questions followed by a case law presentation round for shortlisted teams.

Students presented insightful analyses on contemporary corporate and legal issues. The programme concluded with prize distribution and a vote of thanks, marking the successful conduct of the national-level academic event.

Spirit of Sports Shines at SACAS 4th Annual Sports Day

The S.A. College of Arts & Science celebrated its 4th Annual Sports Day with great enthusiasm and energy on 07 March 2026 at the college campus in Thiruverkadu, Chennai. The event brought together students, faculty members, and sports enthusiasts to celebrate the spirit of teamwork, discipline, and healthy competition.

The programme was graced by the Chief Guest, Dr. Gayathry G, an International Athlete, whose inspiring presence motivated the students to pursue sports along with academics. She appreciated the college for encouraging young talents and highlighted the importance of perseverance, fitness, and determination in achieving success.

A proud moment of the event was the announcement that the college had provided ₹25 lakh as scholarships to 83 deserving students during the academic year 2025–2026, reaffirming its commitment to supporting student education and talent.

During the celebration, Shaktivel from the Department of Computer Science with AI was honoured with a ₹50,000 cash prize for his remarkable achievement as a rifle shooter. His dedication and performance brought pride to the institution.

The sports day featured a variety of track and field events, along with an energetic Karate performance that captivated the audience. Students actively participated in several competitions, displaying great sportsmanship and enthusiasm.

The Department of Commerce emerged as the Overall Sports Champion, showcasing outstanding performance across events. The department also won the Best March Past Trophy, impressing the judges with their discipline and coordination.

The celebration concluded on a joyful note, highlighting the college’s commitment to nurturing both academic excellence and sporting talent. The event truly reflected the vibrant sporting culture of SACAS.


SA Film Academy (SAFA), in association with VR Chennai, Anna Nagar, successfully conducted the grand finale of the National Level Short Film Competition “Frame to Fame” on 05.03.2026

Frame to Fame: SAFA Celebrates Emerging Filmmakers at Grand Finale

The SA Film Academy (SAFA), in association with VR Chennai, Anna Nagar, successfully conducted the grand finale of the National Level Short Film Competition “Frame to Fame” on 5 March 2026. The event celebrated winners from across the country as outstanding filmmakers.
In an exclusive discussion, the Director of SAFA, Prof. R. D. Balaji, informed that a total of 289 entries were received from college participants in more than ten languages, including three international submissions. After a rigorous screening process, 75 films were shortlisted for public viewing.
The selected films were showcased at VR Mall, Anna Nagar, from 2 to 4 March 2026. Notable films included A House of Rainbow, Smile, Never Give Up, Cook, Bleed, Maa, Rise of Kali, and Love Jihad.
The awards were presented by jury members, celebrities, and distinguished guests including film director R. V. Udhayakumar, music director Dina, Professor Emeritus of Cinematography G. P. Krishna, and Sab John Edathathil.
The Correspondent of S.A. Institutions, Thiru P. Venkatesh Raja, through his presence, appreciated the organisers and congratulated the participants for their creative efforts.
The finale concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Sheikh Mohammed S. H., Head of the Department of Visual Communication.

Shrishti 2K26 Celebrates the Power of Women to Create, Nurture and Transform at SACAS.

The Inner Wheel Club of S.A. College of Arts & Science celebrated International Women’s Day with a special programme titled “Shrishti 2K26 – The Power to Create, Nurture and Transform” on 6 March 2026 at the SACAS Theatre. The event aimed to honour women’s achievements and inspire students through the stories of remarkable women from diverse fields.

The programme featured special addresses by Dr. Malathi Selvakkumar, Principal, and Dr. Sayi Satyavathi, Director, who highlighted the vital role of women in leadership, education, and societal transformation.

A key highlight of the celebration was the honouring of two distinguished guests. Sowmiya Simhan, Founder of Sukriti Social Foundation and noted social crusader, Shreya Krishna Lakshminarayanan was introduced through an audio-visual presentation and delivered the Chief Guest Address, sharing their experiences in social service and community empowerment.

The event served as a powerful platform celebrating women’s empowerment and leadership.

The Department of Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence organized a vibrant and energetic flash mob on 12th February 2025 as part of the promotional activities for NOVAGEN’25, the department’s upcoming intercollegiate symposium.

The flash mob was conducted within the campus premises to create awareness and excitement among students about the symposium. The performance showcased the enthusiasm, creativity, and team spirit of the students, drawing significant attention from the audience.

The initiative successfully generated curiosity and interest about NOVAGEN’25, encouraging active participation from students across various departments and institutions.

FINCLAVE’26 – Academic Conclave on Fintech and AI in Financial Services

FINCLAVE’26 was successfully organized by the S.A. School of Management (SASOM) on 4th March 2026, under the theme “Role of Fintech in Enhancing Financial Services & Informed Investing.” The conclave aimed to bridge academic knowledge with industry expertise by providing insights into fintech innovations and AI-driven investment strategies.

The program commenced with registration, prayer, and the traditional lighting of the Kuthuvilakku, symbolizing the formal inauguration of the event. This was followed by the Welcome Address by Dr. Viji R., Director – School of Management, who highlighted the significance of fintech in the evolving financial ecosystem. The Presidential Address was delivered by Mr. P. Venkatesh Raja, Correspondent, S.A. College of Arts & Science (SACAS), who emphasized the transformative role of technology in modern financial services and the need for students to adapt to emerging digital financial platforms.

Panel Discussion I on the theme “Role of Fintech in Enhancing Financial Services” was moderated by Mr. Glenn Roger Carr, Founder & Director, FINMARK. The distinguished panelists included Mr. K. Suresh, President & CEO, India Cements Investment Services Ltd.; Mr. Vasanth Lakshman, Principal Partner, Urban Money; and Mr. B. Anandan, Channel Manager, ABSL Mutual Fund Ltd. The panel discussion focused on topics such as digital financial services, financial inclusion, transparency in transactions, and the importance of investor awareness in the fintech era.

Panel Discussion II, titled “AI’s Contribution to Better Investment Decisions,” was also moderated by Mr. Glenn Roger Carr. The panelists included Mr. Kannan Rajagopal, Managing Director, KSEMA Wealth Private Ltd., and Mr. K. Swaminathan, Former Global Chief Delivery & Wellness Officer, Bahwan Cybertek. The session explored the growing impact of artificial intelligence, data analytics, and automation in portfolio management, risk assessment, and informed investment decision-making.

As a token of appreciation, the dignitaries were felicitated for their valuable contributions. The event also featured a Business Quiz, which actively engaged students and enhanced their knowledge of finance and current economic trends.

The program concluded with the Valedictory Session, Certificate Distribution, Vote of Thanks, and the National Anthem.

Overall, FINCLAVE’26 proved to be a highly informative and successful academic conclave, offering students practical exposure to the latest developments in fintech, artificial intelligence, and modern investment practices, thereby contributing significantly to their academic and professional growth.

SACAS Makes History with Landmark MoU to Support Pediatric Cancer Care.

In a remarkable stride toward community engagement, the Department of Accounting & Finance at S.A. College of Arts & Science , through the Association of Accounting & Finance Professionals and the SACAS’IANS Fin Tech Club, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 03 March 2026 with the Institute of Child Health and Hospital for Children, Egmore. This milestone makes SACAS the first college to formalize an MoU with the prestigious Government Children’s Hospital.

For the past four years, SACAS students have actively supported children bravely battling cancer by serving food and assisting patients and visitors with compassion and dedication. The formal agreement strengthens this ongoing commitment, ensuring sustained service and structured collaboration in the years ahead.

This achievement reflects the institution’s deep-rooted social responsibility and dedication to meaningful community welfare, while fostering empathy, leadership, and social awareness among students through impactful outreach initiatives.
