College of Arts & Science organized an expert lecture on “People and Customers: Leveraging analytics to drive business performance” on September 26, 2025, from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at LC 3. The session was delivered by Ms.Simona Kumari, Project manager at ford & cofounder of salon and cafe-chennai. 

A guest lecture was delivered by Ms. Simona Kumari, Co-founder of Panache Unisex Salon and Yazhi Suhr Restaurant, on the topic “People and Customers Leveraging Analytics to Drive Business Performance.” She shared her entrepreneurial journey, stressing the importance of treating both employees and customers with equal value and using analytics to understand their needs. Citing examples from Netflix, Amazon, Spotify, Myntra, and Flipkart, she explained how data-driven insights enhance business growth. Highlighting her innovative ₹1 haircut formula as a branding strategy, she also emphasized the role of SWOT analysis in evaluating startup performance. The session provided students with practical insights on combining analytics and creativity to achieve sustainable business success.

Expert Lecture at SACAS: Leveraging Digital HR Tools for Sustainability.

The School of Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science, organized an expert lecture on “Using Digital HR Tools for Sustainability Data and Impact Tracking” on September 25, 2025, from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at LC 3. The session was led by Ms. Dolly Sweetlin Jennifer, CFRO at SMLA, Chennai, and Project Scientist at IIT.

Ms. Jennifer emphasized the role of digital transformation in HR for advancing sustainability initiatives. She explained how digital tools can streamline sustainability data management, enable impact tracking, and support data-driven HR strategies that align with organizational goals. Key highlights included integration of digital platforms for sustainability metrics, impact measurement techniques, and real-world applications.

The lecture was interactive and engaging, offering students valuable insights into the intersection of HR technology, sustainability, and organizational development. By simplifying complex concepts with practical examples, Ms. Jennifer made the session both informative and inspiring.

The School of Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science  in association with NISM and Geojit Foundation Securities organised Workshop on ”Indian Securities Market” on 17.09.2025 to 18.09.2025 from 9.00 am to 3.00 pm at SACAS Theatre. Dr.J.Murthy SEBI & NISM Empanelled Trainer was the resources person. Dr.Murthy, educated the students on capital market & highlighted the importance of investing in Stock market by explaining about various securities in which investments can be made. He explained about Mutual funds & insisted on the need to have the habit of saving money from very young age.  The trainer also created an awareness about various courses conducted by NISM and the career opportunities available.

Dr.Murthy explained the concepts through role-play & conducting quiz , the students actively participated in the interactive sessions.

The School of Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science organized a workshop on communication for future leaders from 01/09/2025 to 03/09/2025, Timing: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, at the SACAS Theatre. Mr. Narendranath uppala, Chief mentor of Narenn edutech consulting Malaysia, was the guest speaker. 

The speaker covered overall English communication, helping students understand nouns, adjectives, prepositions, tenses, and more. He encouraged everyone to answer in order to improve their communication skills. Many students took the opportunity to participate by responding to the questions. The session provided practical exposure on how to use proper words while speaking in English. Every student gained a clear understanding of the basics of grammar and learned to form sentences without mistakes. The students also developed the courage to stand up and speak in English. Real-life examples and incidents were shared to enhance student efficiency. Overall, the session was enriching and impactful for every student, as individuals were given the chance to both speak and write in English.

The School of Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science, hosted CASETHON – The CEO’s Chair: Case Studies as Decision Labs on August 29, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the SACAS Theatre. The session featured Dr. Praveen Kumar, Dean, Faculty of Management, SRM Ramapuram, as the chief guest.

In his address, Dr. Praveen Kumar shared insights from India’s top 15 highest-paid CEOs of 2025, emphasizing that true business success lies in delivering customer satisfaction rather than just selling products. He illustrated this with examples—Coca-Cola selling “happiness,” Maggi offering taste and convenience for decades, and ICICI Prudential providing future security.

He further highlighted the need to identify customer pain points and define target audiences effectively, citing brands like Taj Hotels and Close Up. The interactive session sharpened students’ listening and communication skills while reinforcing the importance of customer-centric strategies in business leadership.

The School of Management at S.A. College of Arts & Science, inaugurated the WOW HR Student Chapter on August 28, 2025, at the SACAS Theatre. The event, held from 10:00 am to 11:30 am, featured distinguished guests Mr. Pandi Alagu Raja M, Head – People & Culture at Deluxe and Mentor at WOW HR, and Dr. Saravanan Thinayarasamy.

In his address on “Introduction to WOW HR,” Mr. Pandi emphasized the growing influence of LinkedIn in HR for hiring, learning, and professional growth. He also highlighted WOW HR’s commitment to innovation and technology through active chapters like Chennai. Dr. Saravanan urged students to focus on the “why, what, and how” of HR, stressing core values like Respect, Integrity, Trust, and Empathy (RITE). He emphasized the importance of empathetic leadership.

The School of Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science, organized EMRACE’25 – Orientation Program for Future Leaders on August 26, 2025, at the SACAS Theatre, featuring two insightful sessions by distinguished international speakers.

The first session, held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., was delivered by Mr. Sonic Duran, Commercial Manager, Pandora Logistics (Cambodia, Philippines, Vietnam). He highlighted the vital role of logistics in global business, explaining how supply chains drive international trade. He also discussed the impact of technology in streamlining operations and addressed challenges such as customs regulations, transportation issues, and global disruptions.

The second session, conducted from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., featured Dr. Dinesh Elango, Professor of Business, American University of Phnom Penh, Cambodia. He shared insights on the growing importance of business analytics in decision-making. Demonstrating tools like Power BI and Google Trends, he explained how data visualization and consumer behavior analysis help businesses identify opportunities and stay competitive.

Both sessions enriched students with practical knowledge, preparing them to embrace leadership roles in a dynamic global market.

The School of Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science organized an EMRACE’25- Orientation program for future leaders on August 25, 2025, Timing: 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm, at the SACAS Theatre Mr.Narendranath Uppala, Chief mentor Narenn Edutech consulting, Malaysia was the guest speaker. 

The session provided students with valuable insights on planning, c ommunication, professionalism, leadership and developing the skills expected by the industry. The speaker made the session interactive by sharing real-life experiences and examples such as Byju’s and Razor’s losses in China. He wants the MBA students to be a critical thinker and problem solver. He particularly emphasized the importance of practicing strong communication skills.

The School of Management, S.A. College of Arts and Science organized Embrace’25 – Orientation Program for Future Leaders on 22nd August 2025 at 1.30pm to 3.00pm in the SACAS Theatre. As part of the program, a Knowledge Sharing Session was conducted by Mr. Anbazhagan, who spoke about the importance of mentoring and its role in entrepreneurial development. He began by introducing the organization, its objectives, and its initiatives to support budding entrepreneurs in building their ventures. Emphasizing that resources alone are not sufficient, he highlighted how structured mentoring guides entrepreneurs by providing industry insights, sharing experiences, and opening networks, while also acting as motivation and continuous support.

Mr. Anbazhagan explained the BYST process, which includes stages such as idea validation, training, funding, and mentoring, ensuring entrepreneurs are supported at every step. He further stressed the significance of post-loan training, noting that support continues even after financial assistance to ensure sustainable growth. The session also featured inspiring BYST success stories, demonstrating how effective mentor–mentee relationships can transform challenges into opportunities, leading to remarkable entrepreneurial achievements and long-term business success.
