All India University South West Zone Women Weightlifting Championship 2024 on 25.11.2024 to 29.11.2024
Our SACAS's top women weightlifter, University & C.M. Trophy Gold medalist, R.V. Oviya from 1st B.Sc. NFSM&D, has been selected to represent the University of Madras Women Weightlifting team in the 45 kg category. She will participate in the All India University South West Zone Women Weightlifting Championship 2024, which will be held at Acharya Nagarjuna University, New Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, from November 25th to 29th, 2024.

Our College women Rugby player Kothai 3rd BCOM Bank Management won the Silver medal with team cash price Rupees 30,000/- in the State Level ASMITA Rugby khelo India match at Thiruvallur 2024.She was represent the thiruvallur district.

our SACAS's top athlete from the University of Madras, Dr. Sir A. L. Mudhaliar, meet double bronze medalist R. R. Shaalu from the 1st MBA, who won the silver medal in the 20 kilometers walk (50 rounds of a 400-meter track) with a time of 2 hours and 5 minutes at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Chennai, during the Dr. Sir A. L. Mudaliar Golden Jubilee Commemoration 56th Athletic Meet 2024.

our SACAS women's top yoga player, PAVITHRA G., 1st BCOM A&F, won the silver medal in the National Level Yogasana Championship 2024 under the women's 15 to 18 age category for 2024-2025 at Sudharsanam Vidyaashram, Poonamallee-Avadi Road, Thiruverkadu, Chennai. S. A. College of Arts & Science's Department of Physical Education organized the University of Madras Inter-Zone Men’s Best Physique, Men’s and Women’s Powerlifting, and Men’s and Women’s Weightlifting Tournament 2024-2025 at the SACAS Campus on 26/10/2024. In this tournament, the Men’s Best Physique competition was conducted at the SACAS Auditorium with 8 categories. The welcome address was given by Mr. G. Sivamaran, Director of Physical Education. A special address was delivered by the beloved Principal, Dr. Malathi Selvakumar, who also presented a shawl to the special guest, Mr. Baskaran, Arjuna awardee, Mr. Universe, Mr. India, and President of TABBA. M. Arasu, M.A., Chairman of TABBA, and K. Balamurugan, General Secretary of TABBA, were also honored. V. Jayaprakash, Mr. World, was also recognized. Additionally, Tamil Nadu Weightlifting and Powerlifting officials were honored. Over 300 students from various colleges of the University of Madras participated in this tournament.Our college's top female weightlifter, pR.V.Oviya from 1st BSC NFSM&D won the gold medal in the 45kg category, and R.Aswini from 2nd BCOM BM won the gold medal in the women's powerlifting competition in the 63kg category.
