SACAS Hosts Its First Alumni Meet with Joy and Nostalgia
The first Alumni Meet of S.A. College of Arts & Science was held on 15th August 2025 at the SACAS Auditorium. The event was a heartwarming gathering filled with memories and celebration. It was organized by the Department of Tamil and attended by Principal Dr. Malathi Selvakkumar, Correspondent Mr.P. Venkatesh Raja, and the College Secretary Mr.P. Dhasarathan.
The program began with a warm welcome speech by the Principal, followed by special addresses from the Correspondent and Secretary. The audience enjoyed vibrant cultural performances, including dances by current students.
A few alumni took the stage to share their college memories, filling the hall with emotions and laughter. A special video presentation showcasing the growth and achievements of SACAS over the years touched everyone's hearts. The event concluded with a delicious lunch and friendly conversations. The meet was a memorable start to what promises to be a strong alumni bond.

UBA Students of SACAS Join Independence Gram Sabha to Promote Village Development.
As part of the Independence Day celebrations, the Independence Gram Sabha was held on 15th August 2025 at the Community Hall, Kannampalayam. The event brought together UBA (Unnat Bharat Abhiyan) students from S.A. College of Arts & Science and local community members in a meaningful discussion on grassroots development.
Key topics included government schemes, welfare initiatives, and plans for village progress. Students actively participated by sharing innovative ideas and engaging with villagers, encouraging a collaborative atmosphere.
The program highlighted the significance of citizen participation in local governance and the role of youth in nation-building. It concluded with a vote of thanks, recognizing the united efforts of students and residents toward community development.
The event reinforced the importance of inclusive governance and inspired a shared vision for a better, self-reliant rural future.





Department of Corporate Secretaryship, at S.A. College of Arts & Science conducted 'Student Knowledge Transformation Study Circle on 14.08.2025
Invest Smart from Campus: Study Circle Empowers Students with Wealth-Building Tips at SACAS On 14th August 2025, the Corporate Governance Professionals’ Association, under the Department of Corporate Secretaryship, at S.A. College of Arts & Science conducted 'Student Knowledge Transformation Study Circle #15' on the topic “Smart and Safe Investment Options for College Students: Building Wealth from Campus Days”. The session was held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
Mr. Selvam L., NSS President (2024–2025) and a final-year B.Com. Corporate Secretaryship student, delivered a powerful and engaging presentation. With 102 students in attendance, the session focused on the benefits of early investing and how college students can begin their financial journey wisely.
He explained various investment options including RD, FD, PPF, SGB, mutual funds, index funds, gold ETFs, and stocks, categorising them by risk level. Mr. Selvam also introduced smart strategies like diversification, reinvestment, and incremental contributions. He warned students against unsafe schemes and stressed the need for a personal investment plan.
The session was insightful and inspiring, equipping students with the tools to start building wealth from their college days.

The Department of Home Science – Nutrition, Food Service Management and Dietetics, in collaboration with the F3 Nutrition Club, successfully organised a *Guest Lecture* on the *Ayurvedic Perspective of Nutrition* on *14.08.2025* from *2:00 PM to 4:00 PM*. The session aimed to enlighten students on how to use food mindfully to strengthen digestion, enhance health, and promote overall vitality through the lens of Ayurveda. Dr. Aravind Bharadwaj, Founder of Ayurshi Ayurveda elaborated on vadham, pitham and kabam.Practical tips on food combinations, seasonal eating, and mindful consumption were shared, helping students connect traditional wisdom with modern nutrition science. The lecture encouraged participants to incorporate Ayurvedic dietary practices into daily life for preventive health and holistic wellness. The event concluded with an interactive Q\&A session, leaving students inspired to explore nutrition beyond conventional approaches.

S.A. College of Arts & Science signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with FLATTRADE on August 14, 2025, to enhance learning and career prospects for students of the School of Management. The collaboration focuses on key areas such as internships, placements, curriculum development, Faculty Development Programs, conferences, and workshops, especially in Finance and Business Analytics.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Mr. Shivaraj Dakshinamoorthy, Director – IT, and Mr. Ganesh Babu S, HR Manager from FLATTRADE. Representing SACAS were Dr. Malathi Selvakkumar, Principal; Mr. P. Venkatesh Raja, Correspondent; Dr. Viji R, Director – School of Management; and Dr. K.S. Prabakar, Director – Career Development Cell.
This partnership aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry needs, equipping students with real-world skills and preparing them for successful careers in a dynamic business environment.

Unlocking the Magic of Words: Translation Workshop at SACAS.
The Department of English at S.A.College of Arts & Science, hosted a lively translation workshop titled “3D: Decode, Deliver, Delight” on August 14, 2025, at the Preview Theatre from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
Dr. Y. John Ilavarasu, Assistant Professor, was the guest speaker. He explained the importance of translation, its principles, and common mistakes with simple, real-life examples.
Fun activities like Decode the Idioms, Emoji Translation Game, Scrambled Words, and a Translation Challenge made the session engaging and educational. Dr. Ilavarasu shared that translation is not easy—it requires creativity and clear understanding.
The event was organised under the guidance of Mr. M. Thanga Kumaran, Head of the Department, and Ms. S. Vaishnavi, President of The Renaissance.
The session was both fun and informative, leaving students with a new appreciation for the art of translation.

The session was led by Mr. Karan A, Co-founder of DualTone Innovations and Student Trainee, who is also a proud alumnus of our institution. Drawing from his own journey, Mr. Karan delivered an inspiring and practical talk on career planning, skill development, and professional growth.
He emphasized the importance of Knowing your strengths, Gaining relevant skills, Adapting to job market trends, Lifelong learning & networking, Developing a proactive mindset

Smart Money Moves: Wealthwise Talks Empowers Students with Financial Wisdom at SACAS On 14th August 2025, the Department of Computer Application at S.A. College of Arts & Science organized a special event titled “Wealthwise Talks – Focus on Fostering Financial Awareness” at the Preview Theatre from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The session aimed to educate students on personal finance, savings, investment planning, and wealth management.
Mr. T. Baskaran, Trainer at NCFE (National Centre for Financial Education), served as the resource person. The session was attended by 80 students who actively engaged in the discussion.
The two-hour lecture covered essential topics such as financial literacy, budgeting, mutual funds, stock markets, SIPs, risk management, and insurance planning. Real-life examples and case studies helped students understand practical aspects of money management.
An interactive Q&A session followed, where students shared their views and cleared doubts about financial planning.
The session boosted students’ financial confidence and encouraged them to take responsible steps toward financial independence. All participants received certificates for their enthusiastic involvement.

PG Department of Commerce (General) Organises Dual Educational Visits
The PG Department of Commerce (General) of S.A. College of Arts & Science successfully organised two educational visits on August 9, 2025, offering students a day of cultural exploration and academic enrichment.
Students visit to the Chennai Egmore Museum, one of India’s most renowned cultural landmarks. The visit aimed to deepen students’ understanding of the nation’s vast cultural and historical diversity. Through direct engagement with the museum’s extensive collections, students gained valuable insights into India’s heritage and its rich knowledge systems.
In the afternoon, students visited the Anna Centenary Library, Chennai—one of Asia’s largest libraries. The purpose of this visit was to encourage reading habits, enhance research skills, and promote academic growth by exposing students to a wide array of scholarly resources and modern learning facilities.
Both visits were designed to complement classroom learning, broaden intellectual perspectives, and inspire a lifelong passion for knowledge.

The Department of Commerce (Accounting & Finance), in partnership with the SACAS Association of Accounting & Finance Professionals, held "Pioneers & Professionals - Alumni Insights: Session 3" on Friday, 14th August 2025 in TF 23.
The talk was given by alumnus Mr. Nirmalesh who presented an inspirational account of his personal journey from classroom scholar to a successful career in the corporate media world. His experiences informed the characters of his talk, and as someone who has transitioned from classroom learning to the workplace, he provided many useful tips on how students can work towards achieving their career goals.
In addition to mentioning many useful skills for career advancement as adaptability, continuous learning, networking and professional ethics in relation to themselves, Mr. Nirmalesh shared some useful tips on how to prepare for interviews, expectations for the probation period, and how students can use internships to plan for long term career progression.
The session was both informative and interactive, and students were encouraged to raise questions on career opportunities available in the marketplace, industry expectations on those entering their first job, and ways they could plan for personal growth and decision making. Mr. Nirmalesh was very transparent in his responses, and shared real-life examples to engage students about the topics covered.
Outcome:The session proved to be both motivational and informative, leaving the participants with renewed enthusiasm and clearer perspectives on their future career paths.
