எஸ்.ஏ. கலை மற்றும் அறிவியல் கல்லூரியின் தமிழ்த்துறை,  திருமதி சகுந்தலா அம்மாள் நினைவு மற்றும் பொங்கல் விழா பள்ளி மாணவர்களுக்கான கலை இலக்கியப் போட்டிகளை ஜனவரி 4,  2025 அன்று நடத்தியது. கலை இலக்கியப் போட்டிகளில் வெற்றி பெற்ற மாணவர்களுக்கான பரிசளிப்பு விழா ஜனவரி 30,  2025 அன்று கல்லூரிக் கலையரங்கில் நடைபெற்றது. சிறப்பு விருந்தினராகச் சென்னை உயர்நீதிமன்ற மேனாள்  நீதிபதி மாண்பமை நீதியரசர் முனைவர் ப. ஜோதிமணி அவர்கள் கலந்து கொண்டு சிறப்பித்தார். கல்லூரித் தாளாளர் திரு. ப. வெங்கடேஷ் ராஜா அவர்களின் தலைமையில் பரிசளிப்பு விழா மிகச் சிறப்பாக நடைபெற்றது. இளம் வணிகவியல் முதலாம் ஆண்டு மாணவர் ர.ஹே. கிஷோர் வரவேற்புரை நிகழ்த்தினார்.‌ கல்லூரி இயக்குநர் முனைவர் சாய் சத்யவதி முன்னிலை உரை நிகழ்த்தினார். கல்லூரி முதல்வர் முனைவர் மாலதி செல்வக்குமார் வாழ்த்துரை வழங்கினார். போட்டி பற்றிய அறிகையைத்  தமிழ்த்துறைத் தலைவர் திரு. மா.விஜயகுமார் வாசித்தார்.‌

சிறப்பு விருந்தினர் மாண்பமை நீதியரசர் முனைவர் ப.  ஜோதிமணி அவர்கள் ஒழுக்கத்தின் மாண்பினையும், சுற்றுச்சூழல் பாதுகாப்பையும் பற்றிக் குறிப்பிட்டு இயற்கை வளங்களைக் காக்குமாறு அவையோரை வலியுறுத்தினார். அதைத்தொடர்ந்து போட்டிகளில் பரிசு பெற்ற மாணவர்களின் உரைகளும்,  நடனங்களும் நடைபெற்றன. போட்டிகளில் வெற்றி பெற்ற மாணவர்களுக்குச் சான்றிதழ்களும், பரிசுத் தொகையும்,  நூல்களும் பரிசுகளாக வழங்கப்பட்டன. இளம் வணிகவியல் கணினிப் பயன்பாட்டியல் துறை இரண்டாம் ஆண்டு மாணவி ஜா. ஷபரிதா நன்றியுரை வழங்கினார்.  இளம் வணிகவியல் முதலாம் ஆண்டு மாணவியர் ரா. கீர்த்திகா மற்றும் ஷாசின் பாத்திமா ஆகியோர் நிகழ்ச்சியை அழகுறத் தொகுத்து வழங்கினர். பள்ளி மாணவர்களின் கலைத்திறனையும் படைப்பாக்கத் திறனையும் ஊக்குவிக்கும் வண்ணம் இந்நிகழ்ச்சி மிகச் சிறப்பாக நடைபெற்றது.

SACAS ED Mart 2K25: A Thriving Marketplace of Innovation and Talent! On February 1, 2025 – The S.A. College of Arts & Science (SACAS) Entrepreneurship Development Cell, in association with IIC & Indian Knowledge System, successfully hosted "SACAS - ED Mart 2K25" at the SACAS Ground. The event, held from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, provided a dynamic platform for young entrepreneurs to showcase their talents and business acumen. With over 173 stalls, the marketplace featured a diverse range of products, including food, accessories, stationery, gaming items, pet supplies, herbal products, and more. The event attracted not only students but also external visitors, fostering a spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation.

Adding to the excitement, popular guest TTF Vasan and his crew graced the occasion, energizing the atmosphere with their presence. From the moment the event commenced at 8:30 AM, the venue was abuzz with enthusiasm, with students from various colleges actively participating in the entrepreneurial showcase.

Behind the scenes, the dedicated staff members of SACAS played a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth execution of the event. Their efforts, along with the discipline maintained by stall owners and participants, created a professional and vibrant environment.

The success of ED Mart 2K25 stands as a testament to the creativity, collaboration, and entrepreneurial spirit of young minds. A heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to making this event a grand success!

எஸ்.ஏ. கலை மற்றும் அறிவியல் கல்லூரியின் நூலகத் துறை  மற்றும் தமிழ்த்துறை இணைந்து புத்தகக் கண்காட்சியை ஜனவரி 30 மற்றும் 31 ஆகிய இரண்டு நாட்களில் நடத்தின. புத்தகக் கண்காட்சியின்  முதல் நாளான ஜனவரி 30, 2025 அன்று நடைபெற்ற தொடக்க விழாவில்  இயக்குநர் சாய் சத்யவதி, முதல்வர் முனைவர் மாலதி செல்வக்குமார், மேலாண்மைப் பள்ளி இயக்குநர் முனைவர் ஆர். விஜி ஆகியோர் பங்கேற்றனர். சிறப்பு விருந்தினர் முனைவர் பி.கே. மாதவன் 'புத்தகங்களில் பிறந்தவன்'என்ற தலைப்பில் உரை நிகழ்த்தினார். தொழில்முறைக்  கணக்காளர் திரு. ஆவிச்சி கிருஷ்ணன் சிறப்பு விருந்தினராகக் கலந்து கொண்டு சிறப்பித்தார்.  அவர் 'நூலகம்: உலகை வெல்வதற்கு விதைகளை விதைப்பதற்கான இடம்'  என்ற தலைப்பில் உரை நிகழ்த்தி, நூலகங்களின் முக்கியத்துவத்தை எடுத்துரைத்தார்.

புத்தகக் கண்காட்சியின் இரண்டாம் நாளான ஜனவரி 31,  2025 அன்று  தொலைக்காட்சி புகழ் மற்றும் தன்னம்பிக்கைப் பேச்சாளர் திருமதி ரம்யா அசோக் அவர்கள் உரை நிகழ்த்தினார்.

இந்த நிகழ்வில் தி இந்து  பப்ளிகேஷன், கோரல் பப்ளிஷர்ஸ், சிஎஸ்பி புக்ஸ், விஜய் நிக்கோல் இம்ப்ரிண்ட்ஸ் பிரைவேட் லிமிடெட், விஆர்1 பப்ளிஷர், கல்யாணி பப்ளிஷர் மற்றும் ஹிந்துஸ்தான் புக்ஸ் போன்ற புகழ்பெற்ற பதிப்பகங்களின் புத்தகக் கடைகள் இடம்பெற்றன. புத்தகக் கண்காட்சியைப் பல்வேறு துறைகளைச் சேர்ந்த மாணவர்களும் பேராசிரியப் பெருமக்களும் ஆர்வத்துடன் புத்தகக் கடைகளைப் பார்வையிட்டுப் புத்தகங்கள் வாங்கி மகிழ்ந்தனர். இந்நிகழ்வு புத்தக ஆய்வுக்கான சிறந்த தளத்தை வழங்கியதோடு மட்டுமல்லாமல், கல்வி மற்றும் அறிவுசார் வளர்ச்சியில் நூலகங்களின் முக்கியத்துவத்தை வலுப்படுத்தியது.

SACAS's Industrial Visit to MSSRF Enlightens Students on Agriculture and Biotechnology

The students of the Department of Home Science of S. A. College of Arts & Science visited the MS Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF) on 28th January 2025, gaining invaluable insights into cutting-edge advancements in agriculture and biotechnology.

The visit began with a virtual presentation detailing the foundation’s extensive activities. Students also explored a gallery showcasing the achievements and awards of Dr. M.S. Swaminathan, highlighting his pivotal contributions to the Green Revolution.

In addition, they learned about the institution's ongoing projects, deepening their understanding of agricultural innovations. The highlight of the visit was exploring the Smell Garden for visually impaired children and the Nutrition Garden, which showcased the benefits of organic farming. Students observed the nutritional impacts of vegetables and fruits cultivated through sustainable practices.

The visit offered an enriching experience, broadening students' knowledge of modern agricultural techniques and their role in addressing global food security and environmental challenges.


Department of Computer science is going to organize a guest lecture ” FULL STACK DEVELOPMENT “on 28.01.2025

SACAS Auditorium hosted an insightful guest lecture on Full Stack Development, presented by Mr. Vinayagam Mahalingam, Principal Software Developer at Hewlett Packard Enterprises. The session attracted a diverse audience, including students, faculty, and industry professionals, all eager to deepen their understanding of modern web development practices.

  1. React and Node.js:
    • Mr. Mahalingam provided an in-depth exploration of React, emphasizing its component-based architecture and the advantages it offers in building dynamic user interfaces. He highlighted how React's declarative approach simplifies the development process and enhances application performance.
    • Transitioning to the server side, he discussed Node.js, detailing its event-driven, non-blocking I/O model. He explained how Node.js enables developers to use JavaScript for both client and server-side scripting, promoting efficiency and consistency across the application stack.
  2. Real-Time Demonstrations:
    • To bridge theory and practice, Mr. Mahalingam conducted live coding sessions. He demonstrated the creation of a simple web application, showcasing the seamless integration between React and Node.js. Attendees observed firsthand the process of setting up a Node.js server, creating React components, and establishing communication between the client and server.
  3. Single Page Applications (SPAs):
    • The lecture delved into the concept of SPAs, where Mr. Mahalingam explained how SPAs load a single HTML page and dynamically update content as the user interacts with the app. He discussed the benefits of SPAs, such as improved performance and a more fluid user experience, and how React facilitates the development of SPAs through its efficient rendering mechanisms.
  4. Component-Based Paradigm:
    • Emphasizing the importance of modularity in modern web development, Mr. Mahalingam elaborated on the component-based paradigm. He illustrated how breaking down the UI into reusable components enhances maintainability and scalability. Examples were provided to show how components can be composed to build complex interfaces, promoting code reusability and easier debugging.

The session was highly interactive, with Mr. Mahalingam encouraging questions throughout his presentation. Participants engaged in discussions about best practices, common pitfalls, and emerging trends in Full Stack Development. S.A. College of Arts and Science, in collaboration with the School of Commerce, organized an insightful HR Conclave on 28th January 2025 at the Preview Theater. The event focused on the theme “Synergy: 3T’s for Transformation = Talent, Technology, and Trends”, bringing together thought leaders and HR professionals from diverse industries. 

The conclave provided a platform to discuss the key drivers of transformation in the workplace and how the evolving landscape of talent, technology, and trends is shaping the future of human resources.

Speaker 1: Mr. Charles Godwin – HR Leader and Public Speaker (ZOHO)
Topic: Vera Level
Mr. Godwin discussed the importance of consistency and effective communication in achieving success. He emphasized strengthening our goals and highlighted the concept of “Do It Yourself”. He also focused on the significance of networking, communication, and the value of connecting and collaborating with people. He urged the audience to celebrate every small milestone, stay passionate, humble, and to respect others.

Speaker 2: Ms. Priscilla Alice Thomas – Talent Leader (CSC)
Topic: Raising the Quotient
Ms. Thomas spoke about the importance of IQ, EQ, and CQ in personal and professional growth. She discussed the need for emotional intelligence, what to embrace and what to let go of, as well as how to respond to challenges. She stressed the importance of remembering one’s own principles and facing challenges head-on.

Speaker 3: Mrs. Vishnu Priya – Vice President and Group Head - HR (Kaveri Hospital)
Topic: Empathy-Centric HR
Mrs. Priya focused on the concept of empathy in HR, emphasizing physical, emotional, and financial wellness programs for rural communities. She highlighted wellness initiatives for Gen Z, including training, care, and innovation. She discussed the importance of creating "wow" moments for employees and shared how her organization supports diversity, equity, and inclusion. Mrs. Priya also spoke about the creation of apps related to financial and social wellness, psychological first aid, and scam awareness programs. Additionally, she talked about career growth opportunities and leadership, offering internships in non-clinical departments (3-6 months).

Speaker 4: Mr. Manoj Kumar – SRGM HR and Corporate Affairs (Aachi Masala Foods Pvt. Ltd.)
Topic: Technotics and the Future of Work
Mr. Kumar emphasized the importance of technological advancements and innovation in the workplace. He spoke about increasing women’s representation in his organization, raising it from 13% to 52%, and his commitment to enhancing employability for women. He also focused on the inclusion of people with disabilities, giving 4% importance to their employment opportunities. Mr. Kumar discussed AI, technology’s role in the workspace, and the necessity of upskilling to stay relevant in the ever-evolving job market. He emphasized work-life balance and encouraged attendees to step out of their comfort zones to prove their potential.

Speaker 5: Dr. Yuvaraj – Team Leader HR (Saint Gobain India Pvt. Ltd.)
Topic: Upgrade Your Skills for the Future
Dr. Yuvaraj shared insights on the importance of continuous learning and upskilling. He introduced the “Line While Learn” scheme and highlighted Saint Gobain’s scholarship programs. The company actively supports rural education, impacting over 250 students across India. Dr. Yuvaraj stressed that change, whether old or new, is a constant and emphasized the need to stay hungry for knowledge and embrace challenges.

College of Arts & Science successfully organized a seminar on "The Neuroscience of Leadership: Enhancing Decision-Making and Emotional Intelligence" on January 29, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Renowned expert Dr. Abhishek led the session, providing valuable insights into the intersection of neuroscience and leadership.

Dr. Abhishek explained how the brain, particularly the prefrontal cortex, influences leadership skills, decision-making, and emotional intelligence. The session covered cognitive biases, stress management, and adaptive thinking. Emotional intelligence was emphasized as a crucial leadership trait, highlighting self-awareness, empathy, and social skills.

The seminar also explored neuroscience-based leadership strategies, including mindfulness, cognitive flexibility, and resilience. Attendees, especially from the computer applications field, gained practical insights into stress management, teamwork, and innovative problem-solving.

The Department of Visual Communication at S.A. College of Arts & Science organized an
insightful two-day workshop on Design Thinking, conducted by Mr. Jothivelu Periyasamy, a
leading UX/UI designer known for his expertise in wireframing, prototyping, and multimedia
content creation. The workshop provided students with a comprehensive understanding of
Design Thinking concepts and their application in UI/UX design.
Day 1: Theoretical Exploration of Design Thinking
The first day of the workshop, held on 28th January 2025, focused on the theoretical concepts
of Design Thinking. Mr. Jothivelu began the session by introducing the fundamental principles
of Design Thinking, emphasizing its importance in problem-solving and user-centric design.
Key topics covered during the session included:
Empathizing with Users:Understanding the needs, challenges, and emotions of end-users.
Defining the Problem: Crafting clear and actionable problem statements based on user insights.
Ideation Process: Generating creative solutions through brainstorming and collaborative
thinking.
Prototyping: Developing low-fidelity and high-fidelity prototypes to visualize and test ideas.
Testing and Iteration: Emphasizing the iterative nature of Design Thinking to refine solutions.
The guest shared real-world examples of how Design Thinking is applied in various industries,
particularly in the digital design domain. He highlighted case studies where innovative
solutions were achieved using Design Thinking methodologies, inspiring students to adopt this
approach in their creative projects.
The interactive session encouraged students to ask questions, share their perspectives, and
engage in discussions. The theoretical insights laid a strong foundation for the hands-on
activities planned for the second day.
Day 2: Practical Application of Design Thinking
The second day, conducted on 29th January 2025, was dedicated to the practical
implementation of Design Thinking concepts in UI/UX design.

The session began with a demonstration of software tools commonly used in UX/UI design,
including:
Wireframing Tools such as Figma and Adobe XD.
Prototyping Tools to create interactive user interfaces.
Mr. Jothivelu guided students through a step-by-step process of applying Design Thinking to
a real-world problem. The activity involved:
Empathizing with a Target Audience: Students created user personas and identified pain points.
Ideation and Brainstorming: Teams collaborated to propose innovative solutions.
Wireframing: Students sketched out wireframes to represent the user interface layout.
Prototyping: Using Figma, students developed clickable prototypes to visualize their ideas.
Testing and Feedback:Students tested their prototypes with peers and received constructive
feedback for improvement.
The hands-on session allowed students to bridge the gap between theory and practice, gaining
a thorough understanding of how Design Thinking principles are integrated into the UX/UI
design process. The workshop concluded with a Q&A session, where Mr. Jothivelu addressed
individual queries and provided tips for refining their skills.

College of Arts & Science, in collaboration with the Entrepreneurship Development Cell, IIC, and the Indian Knowledge System, organised  “ Welcome to Flashmob” for  SACAS - ED Mart 2k25  at the SACAS Lobby on 29th January at 1:30 PM. The Entrepreneur Development (ED) team organized a vibrant and energetic flash mob to promote E D Mart for the year 2024-25. The event saw enthusiastic participation from top students across various departments, who came together to perform an exciting array of Indian variety songs. The highlight of the event was the unveiling of the E D Mart 2024-25 banner, marking the official launch of this year's promotional campaign. The flash mob not only added an element of fun but also effectively drew attention to the upcoming initiatives and offerings of E D Mart, leaving the audience buzzing with excitement.
