The School of Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science organized EMBRACE’25 – an orientation program for future leaders on August 22, 2025, at 09:30 am to 11.30 am in the SACAS Theater. Mr. Kothandam S, Head – Human Capital, Nabati Foods India Pvt. Ltd., was the guest speaker for the Knowledge Sharing Session. His session was interactive and thought-provoking, beginning with reflective questions such as “Why MBA?”, “What will you do after MBA?” and “Where do you see yourself after 10 years?”, which encouraged students to think about their career path and future vision.

He further emphasized the difference between vision and mission, highlighting how both play a vital role in shaping professional and personal growth. Mr. Kothandam also stressed the importance of continuous learning, having the right guidance, and aligning MBA education with long-term aspirations. By sharing personal experiences and real-life examples, he inspired students to approach challenges with clarity, determination, and confidence, leaving them motivated to take their MBA journey as a stepping stone for leadership and success.

College of Arts & Science, conducted its Maiden Advisory Board Meeting on 23.08.2025 at SOM Board Room at 10.00.a.m. The Correspondent Mr.P.Venkateshraja, The Principal Dr.Malathy Selvakkumar, Director of SOM Dr.Viji.R and the Advisory Board Members Mr. Gokul Santhanam- Senior VP Mphasis, Mr.S.Ganesh- Head of Learning Experience ASME, Mr.Sivakumar- CEO, Capital Market Services, Mr.U.Peter Sahaya Raj CEO, Indygenous Fashions, Mr.S.Jayaraam-DGM Market Development, Business Standard, Dr.Eswar Balaji.K- LineManager, Eship Global Logistics India Pvt Ltd., Mr.Vasanth Lakshman, Principal Partner, Urban Money, Mr.Vinai Katariya Vice President, Barclays, Mr.B.Vijay Kumar, Project Manager, IT BNP Paribas-India Solutions  and the Faculty team of SOM were present. Initially, the Board Members were introduced. The Director of SOM welcomed the members and delivered the opening remarks followed by her the remarks by the Principal and the Correspondent were made. The Board members discussed on how to improve Industry Connect and equip the students based on the industry requirements and promised to give all needed support. The meeting gave insights about industry requirements. The meeting was very productive and will pave way to take the institution to the next level.

Mr. Katariya’s session focused on the real value of an MBA in today’s world, emphasizing leadership beyond academics. He discussed essential industry-ready skills such as communication, analytical thinking, adaptability, and problem-solving. He encouraged students to bridge the gap between theory and practice to meet industry expectations. The School of Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science organized an EMRACE’25- Orientation program for future leaders on August 21, 2025, Timing: 11:15 am to 1:00 am, at the SACAS Auditorium Mr.Sivakumar, CEO of Capital market services, Chennai was the guest speaker.

The session gave students useful ideas about management, emotional intelligence, and how to connect what they learn with real-life situations. Mr. Sivakumar shared his experiences and explained that good leadership starts with knowing yourself, being confident, and handling emotions well. He spoke about how emotional intelligence (EI) helps people grow both personally and professionally. Students learned about the Emotional Competence Framework, which combines feelings with management skills to solve problems. He also talked about the importance of thinking ahead instead of reacting quickly when making decisions. One interesting part of the session was the link between positive emotions, creativity, and strong leadership. Students were encouraged to build self-awareness, confidence, flexibility, and take responsibility to succeed in their careers. In the end, the session was very enriching, leaving students motivated to use emotional intelligence in their studies and future work.

The School of Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science, successfully organized a Faculty Development Programme on Strategic Leadership and Team Synergy on August 13, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.

Mr. Vinai Katariya, Vice President – Barclays, led the inaugural session on Leadership in Academia, stressing the vital role of leaders in higher education, key competencies, and the challenges they face.

The second session, Leadership Pizza, conducted by Dr. Viji, Director – SOM, was interactive. Participants assessed their leadership strengths and weaknesses through a visual self-evaluation. Dr. Viji concluded by emphasizing that self-awareness, focused growth, and meaningful dialogue are the cornerstones of effective leadership.

Dr. Sreeya, Professor – SOM, led the final session, Synergize for Success – Unlocking the Power of Teams. Through team activities, the session demonstrated how collaboration, creativity, and shared goals enhance leadership and team performance.

The programme was insightful and highly engaging for all participants.

The Petrichor (Sustainability Club) and the Eco Club of the School of Management, S.A.College of Arts Science organised Human chain on the theme “Smog Free Future” on 6.08.2025 at 8.00 am. from College Gate. Students carried placards highlighting the importance of saving environment and saying “No to pollution”. Members of both clubs worked together in a coordinated manner to engage participants and spread the message of protecting nature through responsible practices. Students of BBA & MBA actively participated in the Human Chain by spreading appositive note to adopt sustainable measures in their daily lives, thus reinforcing the belief that small steps by individuals can lead to a big change for the planet.

The School of Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science, organized an expert lecture titled *“Career Opportunities & Future in Logistics”* on July 30, 2025, at the SACAS Theatre from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Mr. Vijayrao Ganpati Sharbidre, Managing Director of VJ’S Express and Cargo Services, was the guest speaker. He provided a comprehensive overview of the logistics sector, highlighting its rapid growth driven by initiatives like Make in India and the boom in e-commerce, green logistics, and digital transformation.

He discussed global opportunities in logistics hubs such as Singapore and Dubai, and emphasized the importance of qualifications like BBA/MBA, technical tools like SAP, Power BI, Tableau, and soft skills such as negotiation and problem-solving.

The session was interactive and insightful, encouraging students to gain practical experience through internships and industry exposure. It reignited interest in logistics as a dynamic and evolving career path.

School of Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science, conducted a session on Program titled “Dynamics of Communicational Intelligence” on July 29, 2025. The session focused on the theme "English language."

Mr. Narendranath Uppala Chief Mentor, Nareen Edutech Consulting, Malaysia , was the chief Guest. Mr.Narendranath delivered a highly informative and engaging session on the fundamentals of English grammar. He clearly explained key concepts such as nouns, verbs, adjectives, and verb tenses, making them easy to understand. Using real-life examples and interactive methods, he encouraged student participation and helped them relate grammar to everyday communication. He also shared personal experiences, highlighting the importance of English in today’s world for education and career growth. The session was both educational and motivational, leaving a lasting impact on the students.
